Though I prefer a CEO type that can oversee the entire team and put together a good staff, I appreciate this thinking It’d suck if we brought in a head coach with an OC that gets the most out of Darnold and then someone poached him after one year because they liked the turnaround. It’s kinda what happened with the Eagles and Reich (not exactly).
My god I just read through some of this thread and wanted to poke my eyes out. Are you guys seriously jumping off the ledge over reports? LMAO!! Enjoy the New Years fellas and jump off the ledge when something concrete happens.
I'd pass on Lewis. It wasn't all his fault in Cincy, but he had some talented rosters this decade and couldn't win one playoff game.
The Patriots could have done a better job vetting Aaron Hernandez before giving him his contract after his rooky contract expired. But to suggest they knowingly signed a murderous individual would be ludicrous. The fact that he killed several people and had gang tattoos qualifies as a gangbanger and not a wannabe gangbanger.
Great if gets the Browns job. That means Greg Williams is available for the Jets. Whoever the Jets get, it will be very difficult to get a successful head coach. There are at least 8 teams looking for new head coaches. So the pool of available good coaches may be limited.
Urban Meyer said ,and I presume gave bill more insight, that Aaron Hernandez would end up in prison or the h.o.f.
Aaron Hernandez was well known as a a--hole..... I heard a story once of him destroying a bar in a bar fight and Tebow came to the rescue and smoothed things over.... Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
No. It won't be difficult. The difficult part will be choosing the right one; the pool is far from limited - the problem may be that it is overwhelming. There are about 500 coaches in the NFL; how many do you think there are in NCAA Division One alone? How many of them do not want one of the only 32 jobs of their kind on the planet? Eight teams looking now, eight guys looking for jobs; add two more if you include the current interim coaches; now add in the guys who have been there before. Then you can go to the throngs on the doorstep.
Maybe we should get Charley Casserly to help conduct the search for a head coach. He did one hell of a job last time. Im sure Caldwell would be high on his list. Lol
Don't listen to this nonsense, he has no problem with anyone regardless of their sexual orientation. It is Bee - enemy.
Not sure Gase is the answer, but hiring someone who has played/schemed against the jets twice a year the last 2 -3 years is not a bad idea. I think most of the NFL knows you can run right at Darron Lee, and he is too small for ILB, but Bowles would never bench or reassign a first round pick. A coach like Gase would at least change some of the things Todd Bowles stubbornly never considered. Perhaps hire someone like Case or McDaniel (if available) who knows all your weaknesses, exploited them under Bowles/Rodgers, and corrects the problem for the future. If they bring in a college coach, MacCagnan will brainwash the new coach into playing all his bad picks/signings.
I wouldn't go that far. Still has a lot to learn and his decision making needs to improve. However, just because I had him ranked as the 4th QB before the draft doesn't mean I don't want him to be great. I'm not petty like that even though I wanted Mayfield.
What is Gary Kubiak up to nowadays? He did well as a HC at Texans and won the Superbowl with Broncos. He left coaching due to health reasons but he seems like a decent guy if his problems are over.
I don’t care who we get at this point, I just want this team to have an identity again. We had one with Rex for the most part, had one with Herm. These last 4 years of Bowles have been the most mundane autopilot shit. Not an offensive juggernaut, not a defensive wall. Just a team that’s there.
