I think McGuire lacks the explosion, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a future with the Jets. He's a very nice complimentary back...I think the Jets still need a starter but say the Jets come into the season with the same RB rotation, I wouldn't mind. I do think they still need another back. I'm still curious about Cannon.
Not explosive but very patient. A better line and he’s even more productive. Clearly a complimentary back. Gotta day, wasn’t in love with Crowell this year. Love to draft a stud RB with one of our 3rd rounders.
Crowell still intrigues me. I'm just disappointed that he gets injured...and he was known for his durability! I still think he's a hard runner and reminds me a bit of Chris Ivory. I think improving the line is vital..
I'd like Montgomery or Snell. Not sure either is a stud though. The 2020 draft is supposed to be deeper.
I feel like Lee would be much more effective if you pair him up with an edge rushing stud this year. Lee can be the guy that spies on mobile QBs, drops into coverage or helps blitz while the other guy strictly focuses on rushing the passer. It would be a nice balance.
Interesting to me how Maye has mostly disappeared from conversations (not totally, but mostly). Last year plenty of people thought he was better than Adams, but of course this year he only played six games. I wonder where exactly he fits going forward.
I feel he’s going to have a bounce back year next year. Defense was better when he was in there. That safety position is set for a while.
That's beyond sad, we have a handful of core guys, and we haven't made the playoffs in almost a decade!
I like McGuire but he’s the definition of a complementary back. He can make plays but he can’t carry the workload. If we can improve the line I honestly wouldn’t mind him and Crowell should we miss out on Bell. I think just based off the fact that Sam is a legit throwing threat now, Crowell would have more space to run and he’d know what to do with the space whereas McGuire doesn’t. Maye worries me. He was hurt in college, hurt during the offseason then hurt multiple times during the season. You can’t rely on him to be a cornerstone until he proves he can stay healthy. I sure hope he can because he makes the secondary a lot better when he’s out there. Williamson is definitely in there, Lee based off this year is in it too. Just imagine how much better all these guys could be if we land a Lawrence or a Clowney...
He also made the PFF team of the week at TE. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-week-16-nfl-team-of-the-week
I really like all these players, and I hope they wear green for a long time. Roberts, though, isn't really young by NFL standards (28). That said, as long as the Jets don't mismanage Roberts and he keeps himself healthy, he can be the Jets return specialist for a LONG time.
Roberts turns 31 in January. I bet if you give him a a good 2 year for 4-5 mill with around 2.5 in guarantees, he'd sign.
