The Jets had a very good OL the first two seasons under Rex and had one of the best running attacks which took us to two AFC championship games along with a good defense. I remember Wayne Hunter was terrible at RT and we still made it to the AFC championship game against Pittsburgh. The Jets came back from a 24-0 deficit and were in position to tie the game at the end when Hunter telegraphed the play. Another good example of the value of a good OL were the broncos which allowed Terrell Davis to run untouched through big holes. Every other RB after him in Denver did well under the same OL/system. It wasn't that Denver had great RBs but rather that it had a great OL. MaCaroni and Bowels need to be run out of town for neglecting the OL for so long
Wasn't our RG coordinator the O line coach for every other RB after Davis that did so well under that o line system?
But the team is united! In what, I don't know. Apparently, they are united in losing. Oh, and they have great practices.
Draft a LT in first, sign a C in FA, move Long to LG and get a CS that understands modern day football.
Look what the Colts have done. They drafted OL last year and Luck has been playing at a high level and has not been sacked in 4 games.
Jets have a center who can't execute a proper shotgun snap and we're talking about building a formidable OL? You have to learn to crawl before you can walk.
Quinten Nelson is a freak at guard and it’s only his rookie year. I don’t think anyone is as good as him coming out in this draft.
We need to grab one of them if they're available at our draft slot. I don't think McVay could win with our OL. It needs better talent and coaching.
Hey, they improved both the center and guard positions by moving Long to guard. He played by far his best game of the season.
