Why would he leave anyway, he gets two chances a year to eat his ham sandwiches and poop them all over Bellichek, what could be better
This is the coach version of love-at-first-sight for me. I have the utmost confidence in the guy, and would give him the Rick DiPietro contract (not that cash total mind you, the years) tomorrow if he asked.
Why are you worrying about the guy's contract? First it was Woody being stupid and paying a guy too much for being a rookie HC, now it's he's not being paid enough. He's being paid more than fairly, and if he keeps it up there's no salary cap for coaches and he'll be paid like a top coach. He'll be here for awhile, he is the franchise's identity.
Its absurd to think we have to re-do his contract now. He coaches in a major market, his GM Tannenbaum is one of his best friends, he is from the northeast (ct.) and Woody will pay him whatever the market is for him.
NO DOUBT, the biggest mismatch at Lambeau on Sunday was not on the field of play, but on the sidelines That was a coaching clinic with OUR GUY thoroughly out-coaching THEIR GUY MAN-GINI .. HE'S NOT A GENIE, HE'S DA MAN .. MAN-GINI
If I was Woody I'd give him a 10 Year contract, make him a wealthy man, and assure franchise stability for the next decade with an HC who's plenty young enough to give a ten year deal .. and plenty good enough too
Thats WHAT I'm talking about!! What is Mangini going to get dumber as a head coach in the next few years.. DOUBTFUL..He is able to bring us back to respectability in YEAR ONE with all the new things he had to do and learn as a first year head coach AND managed to put a competitive team on the field using the WHOLE damn roster (including like 6 rookies). Young, hard working, into using technology to help make players better, and F**king smart as hell. MANGINI IS THE GUY WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR FELLOW JETSTERS.
 Did you happen to catch that video of Mangini coaching the Kewl Cats that they showed during the game yesterday; holy crap, he was skinny as could be....
Easy now, lets see what the kid does with the remainder of the season and half of whatever is left on his contract before we throw any more money at him. While we were bad last year, I do no believe that if we stayed healthy we would have won only 4 games. Furthermore, I am not sure any coach could have been successful with the injuries Herm to deal with, including the boy wonder. While we have had a good run so far, Mangini has not had to deal with any adversity this year and he has had the benefit of a very easy schedule. So let's calm down about the renegotiation talk.
