Our oline is the reason Mac should be gone at end of season

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by maynardsmyhero-uk, Oct 1, 2018.

  1. I wouldve been all over Mahomes & was not shy in the opinion of such 2 years ago. But would Bowles have been? Mahomes can make every throw but is better suited for an aggressive downfield attack.Darnold is alittle more scheme diverse.

Drafting to a position of strength allows more freedom to be selective in terms of which guy is the right fit compared to having to jump on the level of prospect/need w little context. The downside however is what you alluded to above.Appears Mac thinks theres safety in numbers positionally speaking & isnt gonna stick his neck out

can you imagine Mahomes in this pitiful Bowles/Bates offense? every throw is a screen pass. It would waste his talent like they are wasting Darnold's

It was soul Crushing watching for that very reason. Mahomes has the keys to that offense and is driving it. Darnold is riding shotgun in his dad's Buick

It isn't that he is wrong, he doesn't even draft them. We can't improve unless we get better players, and there has been no effort other than signing an injury prone center (who has been an upgrade). The line, even with that upgrade, has serious problems and we could improve on all 5 positions in next years draft/FA.

good analogy but even buick's go forward. the first 4 weeks this offense has thrown more backwards or lateral passes than I've ever seen

I remember before Macc got here I was like "God as long as he gets rid of Brian Winters"

4 years later and not only is Winters still here, but given the quality of the rest of the offensive line he's assembled, Winters is somehow better than everyone else! It's amazing

    Plus alot here

People think they both work in a vacuum but MM has Bowles in his ear for every bad D player he got..IVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR MONTHS

Trumain Johnson , the safeties, Lee the laundry list of requests from Bowles that Mac delivered on

TB not only has a 1980s football philosophy but he has successfully manipulated MM ..TB knows he is Toast as a HC and just wants his D to look good (cant even do that right)...Take a look a the big Con hes running here .No supervising GM ...No mandate to win...Todd sees his future as a big time DC like Phillips for the Rams..using the Jets to try to "pad" his resume after he is let go..if you think this might not be the case just ask yourself why Bowles keeps that loyal fool Kacy around..anybody better would make him look even more inept than he is

After the 2 Rookie GM and HC are canned...all I can sayis we HAVE to find candidates who are a little MORE EXPERIENCED and all in on OFFENSE (both GM and Coach)..also a VP of Football would be the ultimate smart guy/supervisor

The whole league caters to explosive offenses..even the helmet rules disfavor defensive players

The NFL knows the entertainment folks want to see is LOTS of points..just look at MNF last night or all the over games this past weekend

As usual this god forsaken franchise and its owners are the dinosaurs ..at the bottom of the barrel looking up.."suure we dont need a OL ..we win with 8 DBs " Makes NO sense

It better change ..I am not sure ANYONE getting on in years would continue to support the Green and White Circus..I know I wont..Last weekend at the Beach on Sunday was a pleasure:cool:

I agree, but I suspect Mahomes would've gone "off script" and done what he does so well anyway. I wish Sam would do that, because although he has nowhere the arm of Mahomes, he does have great accuracy on the run - maybe even better than on the pocket. I watch the stupid plays Bates is calling and I want to hack into Sam's headset and tell him to tell Bates and Bowles to fuck off.

It would be funny if it wasn't so true. I feel Like the philosophy behind the offense is to Make sure they get it to at least 3rd and 9 then throw a screen or a 6 yard pass lol

  11. I wanna think better of Bowles but i agree. He has protected his defense more than once from statistical embarassment often at the expense of the O. How else could anyone explain the offense showing no urgency in te late 4th & almost deliberately running the play clock down to 2 or so on every down?Im hoping it was deliberate bc if it wasnt this CS is even more incompetent & counterproductive than we already thought!

We dont know whats happening behind closed doors. Bowles may be on the hot seat already and he is upping his Exit Strategy with a big Earl Thomas finger at the Jets and the Johnsons..he is his own first priority Kurt..smh

My dad had a 1968 Buick Wildcat with a 430 cubic inch big block. Don't underestimate.

Todd Bowles is not only incompetent, he's stupid! If there was EVER a time for Bowles to fire his defensive coordinator, it is this week--right after the defensive-minded jags and their below average QB put up OVER 500 YARDS on the jets defense, literally playing pitch and catch to wide open receivers. If Bowles really valued his job and/or wanted to send a message, this would have been the best week to fire his defensive coordinator. Instead Bowles AGAIN weakly mumbles after the game he will need to watch the tape. No wonder we call him Todd (No) Balls.

This is some serious tin foil hat shit here. I know the posts get bad as the jets get worse but I think we hit rock bottom with this. Let’s just absolve mac of any and all wrong doing because he is a puppet to Bowles? Holy fuck this is dumb
