While you may not be sure, everything we’ve seen, heard and read about the Jets and Sam Darnold points to that THEY ARE SURE HE IS READY. Trading Bridgewater only cements that inference.

Fucking obvious that if a 2-8 team loses a QB they ain’t trading a 1st for Bridgewater. Nothing about my argument could rationally be interpreted to be an absolute statement in which there were no scenarios in which a team wouldn’t trade a 1st or 2nd.

Holy fucking shit. I’m embarrassed for you that that had to be spelled out so deliberately for you.

well i'm not sure any fan can have confidence in the jets determining that a 20 year old QB is quote "ready"......

the teddy trade is so-so. the jets mistake was not signing him to a 2 year deal.

i hope this isnt a david carr repeat. i really hope.

THIS IS A BAPTISIM OF FIRE FOR Darnold, but I believe he is up to the task. The difference in performance between Teddy and Darnold was minuscule. The though of using Teddy as a test case to assess the capability of the O line is insane. He is actually more vulnerable than Darnold at this point.
It was a very premeditated, well calculated move by Mac.
It shows respect to all three of the QBs. I wish Teddy nothing but the best.
Much like many of you, I would have preferred a 2nd, but that was not going to happen for a back up position at this point. I'll take a 3rd for an NFC move versus a higher pick to the AFC. I would be livid if year end Teddy was with the Pats.
I'm all in on Darnold. It's up to the OC to keep the game plan consistent with the OL capability. We should explore strengthening the OL with any mean possible.
Darnold is the most NFL ready rookie to enter the Jets camp since God knows when.
This is a year of " on the job training" for Sam. Next year is for the marbles.
Let's get this show on the road. And please cut the crap about when Sam finds himself on the floor hurt. That is just unnecessary negative BS, and a pathetic way for any Jet fan to prove a point. Stay positive.

10 pages of the same content preceded this and you don’t even look?

Do you show up to surprise parties when they are cutting the cake and yell “SURPRISE”?

    Super lightweight shit.

Teddy for a 3rd sounds straight up.
Teddy and a 6 for a 3rd seems very specific. It makes me feel the Saints were dealing from the strength position. The jets needed a 3rd is what it strikes me as.

So, onslaught of speculation in my mind regarding Mack.

But, as a 40 year fan, I know better than to hope. I don't exactly want them to overpay for him either. They still need to fix the oline next year, since they've done a great job of kicking it down the road so far.

I can see Mack going somewhere soul crushing. Like...NE

Either way, teddy could have just as easily gotten hurt as much as succeeding.

We find comfort in that a lot more people than just the Jets brass have expressed his readiness.

About half (if not more) of the starting qbs in the league started in year 1. Many of them had success right away. If hes ready then he is ready.

I'd normally agree, except they wouldn't let hack look at the field. Literally. I still agree with the sentiment though.

Johnny I want the kid out there when not only HE is ready but I also want the rest of the team to be ready,,,,we have no clue what this line is but IF it is as bad as advertised I would rather have Teddy out there making quick reads and rolling out as maybe he has seen some of the stuff the rookie has not, and the line will need at least a month together before they even begin to gel,,,I don't want the future of this team getting hurt because they rushed him out there behind a shoddy line

82 even IF he is ready,,,IS THE O line ? They have not even played 1 full preseason game together,,IMO the trade and starting Darnold NOW are mistakes but time will tell

Normally I would have concerns about starting a rookie QB behind a shaky offensive line but not in this case. Darnold’s best trait may be his poise under pressure. The experience he will gain by playing far outweighs the usual pitfalls associated with starting a rookie QB behind a porous line. This will be indispensable to his development and the Jets’ future.

All those times Roethlisberger went down... Rodgers with the broken collarbone and other injuries... Brady tore his ACL...

No trades, no picks. It’s almost like the people saying we should have waited have no leg to stand on.

The saving grace is Darnold’s ability to get out of Dodge if the shit hits the fan.
