What a absolute heist that trade was for the Jets. If it turns out that trade helped us get our future franchise QB all the better. Awful trade by Seattle. The wheels seem to be coming off there.
Me too. That said a lot about him. Seemed to get worse after that too. I think he's overrated as a Dlineman. He's very active and it looks great but his production isn't that great as time has gone on. I saw Minny wants him to be a 3T and that's a good thing. He might work out with them with that and be a playmaker. He'll need stout guys around him like Snacks and Mo were. I liked Sheldon but thought he was hurting himself with his attitude and his outlook.
Now that I've seen that Mac has traded up to #3, no I haven't given up on finding a FQB. Even if he hadn't traded up, I would have wanted him to keep looking for a FQB and not just depend solely on Teddy. I just never thought that Mac would actually trade up.
He's quick off the snap, disruptive in gaps & can run sideline to sideline...therefore he's a good 3T. But an impact playmaker he is not.
Let me ask u guys this? Who is going to be happier with their new Jet DT, the Vikings (sheldon) or Packers (muhammad)?
If you have a couple of stout guys that are good players around Sheldon to take on two gaps you'll be happy. Mo at his best is the better player Imo. But he seems to have gone of the tracks- rumors of a drinking problem.
I think Sheldon grades out better over the course of a given game/season but Wilkerson has more big plays & stats. Think of Sheldon as Zimmer's new Geno Atkins. Not quite the pass rusher but better against the run.
The Jets gave a lot for that 3rd pick, I hope they now find their franchise QB! I think it was the right move and both teams may benefit.
