I dunno about the fake fans or whatever. The point is Fireman definitely helps the crowds become louder. Hate him or love him (And I think you dislike him). Iv'e only been to a dozen games myself but I consider that enough to know. Watching the game yesterday I thought things were a tad on the quiet side. If the fake fans bailed out I would think they would have returned after we beat the Pats and sat at a 5-5 record.
Wish I was as I would be flewn to away games by the NYJs like he is. I sure he also gets other perks that we common people here do not even see. Just using some common sense here which IMHO is quite lacking by most on this board.

If you want send me a PM & even though I have posted the symbol here many times I will give it to you again so you can see for yourself that the stock went from very small pennies to very large dollars
As far as I know Fireman Ed is the only fan on the NFL league payroll. He is paid by the league and does TV spots for the league. There must have been a good reason for him not to be there.
When the Jets went to Denver in Jan of 99, Ed & his brother were in my section handing out Modell's towels with their picture on it, they claimed that Mo's paid for the trip, I paid $1,200 for my package, ....they were ok, but I thinnk the popularity they got went to their heads a bit.....
Fireman ed doesnt do anything so special. DO u go to the games the ones that think hes the man???? the guy only chants when we are winning.. when we need him to chant he doesnt. i dont mind the guy but he dont make the place louder. only time u hear anything involving him is the jets cant and the occasional defense chant
I dont know why everyone is down on him. He helps get the stadium loud, and I have no problem with that
Im not going to personally attack Mr. Ed...and have the wrath of my good friend champ come upon me. I will say this. That chant is very popular around the league. I love to hear it...yet cringe when they show Mr. Ed. doing it. With that said, the people that tried to get the chant going in Eds absence were no talking horses. It was kind of funny how it fell apart....but it was real..and I enjoyed it. Im sure Ed had a good excuse not to be there...but like any fine employee...he should have replaced himself. Perhaps this will lead to Ed training another just in case he is absent in the future. Of course the training will take place in a high school gym because Ed would never share the limelight.
H'mm why would you say that? Maybe lack of knowledge or maybe just silliness from your side again not knowing the reasons my son, myself & my sons brother in law bought the stock. You know without knowing why you should not give your HO of things you know nothing about. My sons brother in law is now a millionaire & gave up being a attorney in NJ to enjoy life cause of the stock. Now do you think you should tell him he was stupid for buying the stock?
Not that I dislike him, Just think he gets too much credit... They Could Easily get the Scoreboard to lead the Chant. Fact is that Our stadium situation is a Joke and if anything, now is the time we may actually NEED a cheerleader like him and he decides to bail... Not cool

Im not against Ed, I think he does a good job getting the crowd involved. I was at the game and it wasnt as loud as usual. I do think he may get too much credit and spotlight. The guys in 319 are always there and loud but hardly get noticed and put on the screen. P.S.- Im a huge fan of the new flag girls/cheerleaders. Its about time.
