When Penny got up after that hit yesterday and started pumping his fist and raising the roof I LOVED it. I was cheering out loud. It reminded me of a couple years ago when C. Martin scored against Cincinatti in week one and started yelling and doing the "twist". As a Jets fan we hardly see our players doing alot of celebrating, but when we do it makes me proud! Does anyone have footage of Penny's reaction yesterday or of C. Martin a couple years back?
it was great for him to let the crowd know he was ok coz everyone there adn watching at home were freaking out...i knew i held my breath for a while... it was really an inspiring moment to see.
I was sitting next to MParty at the time and I took it as Pennington saying "Sorry boys, not this arm" and the place (us included) blew up. Almost a tearjerker there.
I think he sensed the crowd was still worried about the arm. When I saw him flapping his arms I figured he was ok. Last year in the Jax game, the injury happened right in front of where I sit. I could see him working the shoulder and knew it wasn't good. Even in that game he came back in and threw what should have been the game winning TD, had Chrebet hung on to it. This game we knew he was ok.
You could tell Chad sensed how the crowd was feeling. Rather than be a jerk and have an air of "What's wrong with you people? Why do you think I'm so fragile?" He fed into the crowd, and used it as a motivational weapon. That's experience and maturity at work, not to mention a very good feel for the NY fans. Very smart move by Penny to take what looked disastrous, and make it into a rallying cry. That's why I love this guy. He is THE MAN here.
yeah i was there everyone cheered that he got rid of the ball right as he got hit... than we didn't see him get up.. everyone stood up and the air was let out of the stadium. than he pops up and starts waving his arms we all cheered like crazy:jets:
That moment really pumped me up. When he went down, i figured he was done but what a way for him to get up and pump up the crowd.
I agree. I'm pretty sure Chad knows how much alot of people love him. I held my breath and when he pumped, I screamed  (scared the dog) and I swore I could hear the stadium all give a collective sigh of relief.
I got nervous as well, but when Chad got up and showed he was o.k. I was happy. I screamed pretty loud. :jets:
All I was thinking was, "Oh no, there goes the season again." Then he got up, raised his hands, and it was just a huge relief. But what was another great moment, was when Ramsey came in for that one play and just aired it out. That was basically Mangini giving the finger to the Texans saying they had NO respect for their defense. I LOVED that attitude.
Yeah it would have been sweeter if Ramsey had any aim whatsoever. I still think it was hillarious when Chad came back to the sideline after that drive, and Ramsey asked if he was okay. Chad looked at him like he had two heads, and said "Yeah, I'm fine." like he couldn't even understand why Ramsey would be stupid enough to ask the question. Chad, this 's for you!
Yea, I'm no Ramsey fan but him coming out cold and airing it out was a good flip off to the Texans. I seen that look Chad gave him, he probably was thinking "You wish"
I guess Ramsey coming in answers any questions as to whether or not we're going to see Clemmens this year.
Not really, if Clemens had been put in, Chad would be out the rest of the game. The CS knew Chad was alright, so why put in Clemens when you have a very good shot at winning this game?
