In light of the Eagles winning the SB for the first time in 50 years and a absolute lack of anything else to focus on in Jet world until the draft, lets have some fun with a hypothetical poll. Feel free to participate or not as this is all in fun. What will happen before the Jets win a Super Bowl...?
I said "Mets will win a WS" because if those other things happen before the Jets win another SB, I think the team will have folded up before that point. Or they'll be playing in front of a near-empty stadium.
I said Jets will get their own Stadium because I know that will never happen, just like them winning the SB!
Option 5- Hell freezes over, George Brett gets traded to the Yankees, Cindy Crosby to the Rangers, bazooka bubble gum is 1 cent again, Cman and I will be young again!
Mets win the World series in 2018 The Juggernaut Jets follow up by winning the Super Bowl in February 2019. Kirk Cousins is the league and Super Bowl MVP. LeBron James leads the Knicks to glory winning the 2019 NBA championship after shocking the world and signing with the Knicks in summer of 2018. Knicks and Celtics rivalry reaches new heights. In the Summer of '19 the government makes marijuana legal in all 50 states, and taxes it to help raise money to build the The Great Wall of America.
I voted man will land on Mars. I have more faith in Elon Musk than Alabama legalizing pot. Edit: Didn't see the Yankees are an option. So Yankees first, Mars second.
Yankees win a WS(they were 1 game away from going there last year and just added the NL MVP), then weed becomes legal nationwide.
If we’re being serious it is obviously the Yankees winning a WS first, and the Mets winning a WS second, since the Yankees almost made the WS last year and Mets DID make the WS less than 2 1/2 years ago (its amazing how everyone seems to forget that). I don’t believe it’s going to be legalizing pot because the current federal administration has made it very clear that they are against it, which means that there will be federal lawsuits brought by the Department of Justice going all the way up to the Supreme Court about it if there is any attempt to pass federal laws legalizing it. I doubt it will pass in all 50 states separately for the foreseeable future, since there are states in the south and west that wont pass it on their own (Utah is never going to allow it unless it’s forced on them). This is going to be similar to abortion and gay marriage - it won’t be legalized everywhere until the Supreme Court says so, and nowadays that’s not going to happen without strong support from whoever is in the White House.
Mets beating the Yankees in the World Series or the Jets beating the Giants in the Super Bowl? Which would be better? I vote the Jets beating the Giants in the Super Bowl. I would love that, but it won't happen though because the Giants are a fucking mess. It's more "likely" to see the Mets and Yankees in another Subway World Series with the Mets pitching shutting down the Bronx Bombers.
I think Aaron Boone will prove to be a disaster hire as the Yankees next manager. Should have just kept Joe Girardi.
I don't understand why you would fire a guy whose only crime was managing through a rebuilding phase.
There are counties and cities that are dry by law, with no alcohol sales nor public consumption of alcohol permitted in those jurisdictions. Marijuana will never be legalized across the USA. It will still be restricted by blue laws in the places that just will not accept it. I expect marijuana will be legalized on the coasts and some of the Midwest and will be legalized in some large cities in states that are otherwise "dry" so to speak.
The non challenge in Cleveland, 10 years being a long time to manage, being rigid about relievers being assigned innings, a tense relationship with Sanchez, etc.... I thought Girardi could've stayed, but can see why they decided to go in another direction.
