I don't care who Morton rubbed the wrong way or who didn't like him...Morton was the only guy getting results. He was handed what was supposed to be a historic bad offense, and until McCown got hurt that offense was the only part of this team functioning well. Meanwhile Bowles and Rodgers defense continues to underperform, continues to miss tackles, continues to have poor playcalling, 4th Q breakdowns, can't make adjustments. But yea let's fire Morton because he bothers high and mighty Todd Bowles and Kacy Rodgers.
Yeah 28th ranked offense = results. Please. That's not results, that's dog shit. Statistically, with what we had finishing in the bottom five is totally random and possible with any marginally competent OC.
Safe to say Robby Anderson is happy with the move. He liked the Jets post on Instagram saying they let him go.
Hmmm. Bit surprising, he wasn’t Bowles first choice last year,DeFilippo was and the eagles blocked them. Wonder if he has a shot at him now.
Classic Jet fan replies, during the season the most were shrining Morton our savior at HC, now rejoycing he got fired, lol
I have to agree with this. Its not like the Jets are immune to periodic retardation when it comes to personnel moves. This is what losing franchises do and the Jets have elevated it to an art form. So, its futile to whine about this as the Jets will do this again in the near future. Until this team gets a true VP of Football OPS, we're gonna see more personnel decisions made by what amounts to amatuers learning as they go. These are the New York Jets and strange shit comes with the territory. Its what they do.
I'll throw a name out that I have not seen mentioned on here yet as possible OC. Kubiak. He recently said he would like to return to the coaching ranks as an OC. Thoughts?
I’ve read nothing but potato response after potato response. Based on the reports, it is clear several key people did not like Morton’s approach. Rather than compromise the growing locker room morale, the Jets made a move to maintain homeostasis. Also pass happy? Jets were like 49% run 51% pass in 2017. One of the most balanced teams. This all makes sense if we can land Arians. Though I’m really skeptical about that, read reports Arians was retiring for health reasons.
I believe he was given a promotion within the Broncos organization because Elway didn't want to lose him.
Not likely but after Munchak turned down Arizona's request for a second interview and with DeFilippo being the only candidate they have reached out to for a second interview, he seems to be the front runner .
