    #15 - The bad news for the Jets? Their offense looked anemic in Sunday’s 10-0 loss to Chicago . The good news? Their schedule lightens up a bit from this point on. After a tough stretch against the Patriots and Bears in back to back weeks, the Jets welcome the struggling Houston Texans to Giants Stadium this week, and face the hit-or-miss Packers, Bills, Vikings, Dolphins, and Raiders to close out the season. With the AFC playoff picture a jumbled up mess, the Jets should make the postseason if they can win 4 of those 6 games. Not an impossible task whatsoever.

    #17 - Who knows if the outcome would have been any different, but the onside kick call by the Jets obviously didn't work out. A team like the Jets needs to take some risks, but at 0-0, we're not sure that was the right time.

    #17 - With a soft schedule the rest of the way, their playoff hopes are still alive. But they have to get it going on offense.

    I'm shocked that fox thinks going 9-7 will get us in the playoffs. With the way the jags are playing and how they own the tiebreaker over us, I think it will be a minimum of 10-6, maybe even 11-5 needed to get the #6 seed.

    Like I wrote last night, I will not be surprised if JAX wins on Sunday and gets to 7-4 and then ultimately finishes 8-8.

    Possible big game: Jacksonville at Kansas City in Week 17

    I just can't see it. Look at the jags remaining schedule.

    @Buff - Win
    @MIA - Win
    Indi - Loss
    @Tenn - Win
    NE - Win
    @KC - Win

    I can see the Jags finishing anywhere from 10-6 to 11-5, no less, this is why it scares me. I could actually see the jets winning out and NOT making the playoffs, unless of course that is enough to win the AFCE.

    Those final four games are all going to be problems.

    I can't see Tenn being a problem at all. Also, the jets got destroyed by the jags 41-0, and your telling me that a team that the jets beat is gonna beat jax in jax? I can't see it, it's a stretch. And herm will find a way to lose too. This Jaguars team scares the hell out of me, big time.

    By that logic, the Jets should have beaten the Bears because the Jets beat the Dolphins and the Dolphins beat the Bears. Also, the Jaguars-Titans December 17 game will be played in Nashville.

    Week 17 is a long way off. Maybe the Chiefs will have key players injured. For argument's sake, if that game was played tomorrow the Chiefs would win it.

    Rooting for a 3-way KC-JAX-NYJ tie for the 6th wild card spot looks good.
    The 1st tiebreaker in that situation would be a head-to-head sweep.
    KC beating Jacksonville would void that tiebreaker.
    The next tiebreaker would be best winning percentage in AFC action. Jets currently 4-4, Jaguars 3-3, Chiefs 2-4.

    Screw power rankings. There for people who can't make up their own mind. You know how good your team is, that's all there is too it. You make your case, don't take someone elses word for it.

    You can also throw the Bengals into the mix with their 5-5 overall mark and 3-3 AFC record.

    We could see the first 4-way tie for a playoff spot involving teams from four different divisions.

    I see Jacksonville's schedule alot differently than you.

    All of those games will be difficult games for them.

    Buffalo in the cold is not easy.

    Miami is on fire right now and will have plenty of time to prepare for Jacksonville.

    We all know how good the Colts are.

    Tennessee can beat Jacksonville at home.

    You picked the Jaguars to beat the Patriots? Wrong.

    Arrowhead Week 17 and you are taking Jacksonville? Even with Herm the Chiefs have the edge.

    Yes I took the Jags over the Pats. Jags destroyed the NYJ 41-0, and the jets beat the patriots last week. I can't see the Pats upsetting Jax in Jax. And really, at this point, I don't know who I want to win this game. It depends on how close we are in the divisional race.

    I'm very unimpressed with the chiefs all around, but I really hope they win in wk 17.

    Jacksonville is going to lose 2 out of 3 of Indy, NE and at KC. I also think they're gonna lose at Miami or Buffalo, both very tough places to win in November although for different reasons.

    That would put Jacksonville at 9-7 and I'm about 90% sure that's where they wind up. The Jets only have to win 10 games to beat them out. Now 5-1 for the Jets is an even bigger stretch than 4-2 for Jacksonville at this point, however all that really means is that KC and Denver are in the driver's seats for the wildcard this year.

    I agree...This is a first time I've seen a writer suggest that 9-7 is good enough to make the playoffs in the AFC. Seems a little reckless to me...

    Some of us might be rooting for Herm that week.
