I'm feeling great about last night's win, but I am still angry that we couldn't snag at least one of those 3 close games (especially in Miami). 5-4 would be so much better than 4-5 going into Tampa next week. Either way, we have an opportunity to get back to .500 with 6 to go and 10 days to prepare for it. A playoff run is still a possibility if we can play another complete game next week. I honestly didn't realize that the Bucs are as bad as they are. At 2-5, we should win, but we are a different team on the road.
As much as I was excited about the tank, being 5-5 is a tremendous accomplishment that is equally exciting for this team. I want the players returning next year believing that they are progressing as a team.
I expected Tampa to be much better this year. Not sure what is wrong with them. Winston is a good QB, Martin is a good RB and Evans is a top WR, yet their offense has been horrendous. Defense is pretty bad too. @RobA is right, the Jets are not the same on the road though. It will be a tough game. 10 days until Tampa Bay THEN 14 days til Carolina, so the Jets play 2 games in 24 days. One month until they play another AFC opponent (Chiefs).
Tampa's got the 4th ranked offense in the league, but somehow they don't score a lot of points. Maybe turnovers? Maybe field position? Whatever it is --- they move the ball, and we get moved on, so this game scares me. I'm really pulling hard for the Saints to beat them badly on Sunday. Sometimes when teams have playoff dreams and the bottom drops out of their season early, players pack it in mentally. If we can jump on them early, maybe some of that will creep in at 2-6 and facing 2-7.
Not that it has any bearing on the upcoming game versus the Bucs, but the Jets are 10-1 all time versus them. Could see the Jets winning this game coming off almost 10 days of rest. ASJ will have a good revenge game against the team that released him.
I hope the Buccaneers get their first road win of the season this Sunday and beat the Saints...I don't want to face a them at their stadium coming off of 5 straight losses. They'll see us as a winnable game. Another game for the Jets like the Falcons. I think the Jets win a close one. Jets 20 Bucs 17.
This damn team. Beginning of season I was psyched to have a game to go see close to home, then after the Oakland game I couldn't see myself spending $80 for nosebleed seats to this game, now the Jets are looking a little better and Bucs are 2-5 so now there are lower level seats going for as low as nosebleeds were a month ago. This team can never make decisions easy for me.
I hope we don't fall into the same trap the Bills fell yesterday. Their approach was nonchalant, they thought they could phone a win in. If the team comes in ready to play and doesn't try to phone it in, we'll win I'm sure.
Hahaha! Saints 30 - Bucs 3 ... Perfect. Now we need to put up some early scores next week, and hope they check out, the same way the Giants did today.
Winston got knocked out of the game, wonder if they're going to just shelf him. Fitz reunion incoming!
Hopefully the Jets get a chance to smash the $10M he stole out of him next week. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
I'd rather play against Winston than Fitz.. Winston has looked like shite, and you just know Fitz would find some magic against us.
