Maybe ESPN was correct about Brick

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by championjets69, Nov 20, 2006.

  1. Champ, where were you after all the quality performances Brick has had this year? Heck aside from this play Brick had an outstanding game yesterday...no kudos for that?

You are right about what happened on the block. However, the biggest mistake was on Chad. He should know better than to throw off his back foot across his body to the other side on the field while he is off-balance. He should have just ate that or throw it out of bounce to the near side of the field.

That's exactly what he should have done. That play was un-Chad-like. I was left scratching my head on that throw.

Shhh! He's still harping on that imaginary quote he swears one ESPN analyst uttered on draft day (something about D'Brick having bad feet) that no one else on this board heard. He doesn't have to watch these games to know what transpired. It's called dementia.

champ Im not usually as hard on you as some of the other guys, but on this one, youre way off......even without the spin block move that D'brick was asked to do, you cant get on a rookie LT because he let up a sack to brown...the guy is an animal....give em some slack would ya

  6. The best part is, his feet is what made brick such a rare prospect. His feet are so quick that it makes him tough to beat around the corner to the QB.

You can say whatever you want about that play, but I was at the game and watched Brick many times. He looked very good throughout the game. Chad is also to blame for that interception. Instead of flinging it to the sidelines, he threw ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE FIELD with his weak arm. Chad was AWFUL and made two terrible decisions that cost the Jets anywhere from 6-14 points.

You're basing this on ONE play? He's not good because a player on the best defense in the NFL got around him once? How about the last few GAMES where he has played very well. I guess by your logic Peyton Manning isn't all that good because after all he did make a bad throw in the end zone that one play.

There is no LT in the LEAGUE that would have been able to get back in time for the block on that play. It's a retarded line call.

He has said in other posts that he doesnt watch the games, and he did say that he didnt watch the game last week.

Also Brick has shut down Taylor, Freeny, Seymour, Spicer and Mckinley to name a few. Hes a Rookie and your giving him shit for one bad play, that wasnt all his fault....

What a ridiculous comment. What makes this thread even more ridiculous is that with an overwhelming majority of offensive tackles in this league that move/technique/play would not have even been attempted because of their lack of quickness and agility when compared to Ferguson. How many times do you see an offensive tackle fake pulling into the interior of the line in order to draw a defense into over pursuing? Very few. That is only tried because I'm sure the coaches have seen Brick pull it off before. Give Brown credit for busting it up. He wasnt fooled, he is one fast DE and D'Brick made a hell of a play getting there and getting a piece of him at least.

Knowing Champ does not watch the games is about the equivalent of knowing that the sky is blue, or the grass is green.
