they cost us this game. Still waiting for Pennington to have a decent or manageable game against a good defense. He just does not show up against good defenses whatsover. Mangini was on crack when he made that onside kick call. F**** refs made that bullshit call on the fumble. plain and simple

    Poor offensive gameplan

Who decided that a short passing game and outside running was a good idea against this defense? The Jets offense never tried stretching the field at all, and then tried plays that fed right into the Bears strengths.

And Chad was just bad. I really don't believe he's the long term answer. That pass that was picked by Urlacher in the end zone was a perfect example of a arm gone bad. That pass needed a lot of velocity, and Chad just can't do it. I like the guy, but he just can't get it done against fast defenses.

On the good side was the defense. Man, are they coming on lately. Too bad the offense has been regressing.

How many attempts did Chad have over 20 yards today Einstein? Get off the easy track. Tony is right. The game plan first and foremost was horrible. You can forget about wining a game like this with the plays we ran. After that then you can get to the players.

Arm strength wasn't his only issue today. His vaunted accuracy and decision-making skills were no where to be found as well. It was just an overall horrible performance by him.

Yeah, that offensive gameplan was pretty weak compared to the NE game. I'm also wondering why we keep mixing it up with the running backs when Houston was consistantly getting yards.

We moved the ball though... It's hard to question it because of that. In the 2nd half, they adjusted and we didn't do well.

Pennington looked awful today, that I'll agree with. However, the pass in the end zone had NOTHING to do with his arm. ABSOLUTELY ZERO. He STARED THE RECEIVER DOWN and URLACHER read it. It was a great play by Urlacher, and poor QBing by Pennington, but his arm strength had 0 to do with it. John Elway throws it and it's picked (if Urlacher can catch it coming that fast).

They should have at least tried to go downfield in order to stretch the D and maybe draw a flag.

I really didnt see this as a bad gameplan at all...I saw open receivers all over the place and a qb who looked like he was aiming into the first row of seats all game.

There had to be at least 4 or 5 times balls sailed over the heads of open receivers and they looked back at Chad as if he would get a million dollar bonus if he threw it into the stands.

    Too bad he cant reach.

I saw Urlacher reading Chad, but with some ass on that ball, it has a damn good chance to be caught. It had nothing on it, and was picked. So I disagree with you about Chads weak arm having nothing to do with it.

Jets need playmakers on offense period.........You can live with Pennington if the receivers are quick...........or live with the receivers if the Penny had more velocity, but not both. Chicago is too fast and tackle well to run a dink and dunk offense .............

Dino, they havent tried but 2 long passes in the last 4 weeks....IT IS CHADS ARM!!!!!!!! something happened in Cleveland and hes been a vagin ever since.....early in the season we were trying at least 3 or 4 deep plays per game(and at teh perfect time I might add)...and then all of a sudden it stopped....do you really think the coaching staff decided to stop doing what was working? or do you think Chads arm is either hurt again or at least very fatigued? which makes more sense> How many passes did Chad throw over receivers today???? People think the sign of a weak or tired arm is underthrown balls...no no no...its the big fat floater becasue unless he throws it like that it aint goin anywhere......its Chad guys, hes killing us

    No way, I can't agree.

Elway throws that pass, it's still picked. On that pass, his arm had nothing to do with it. He read the throw, so with a stronger arm, instead of it hitting him between the 5 and 4, it hits him closer to the 4... big deal.

If Chad is as accurate and makes good decisions as he is usually wont to do, we win today.

Can't say that either.. Chad was poor, but you do not know how the game goes if he was better.. Chicago played it very close to the vest because they knew we couldn't do squat.

However, if he throws a TD to Coles on that play instead of a pick, you can make the same argument in reverse.

You all are mixing up the end result with the design. The game plan was very good. Sticking to the run to open up the pass worked very well. The Bears are frontunners and a defense that does much better when they smell blood. Setting up the pass by running against their weak run defense was the best way to protect Chad and keep their defense on their heals.

The problem was not the plan but the execution. We simply made to many mistakes. Take away a few bad thorws and this would have been a much different game.

  19. It wasnt so much the gameplan that stunk. The idea was to control the tempo, stretch the defense laterally and keep the defense guessing. For the most part it worked..but we got a little too cute on too many occassions w/ the misdirection run plays and didnt run the ball well at all in the 2nd half. That was our downfall.

Why do we have to "live" with Pennington? Why can't we have a QB with enough zip on a thrown pass that we're not having this conversation in the first place?

I saw floaties all damn day today. Jumpers and dinks. That's what we got out of Pennington today. The OC shares as much blame as Chad does today but neither guy gets a pass no matter how much koolaid gets passed around.

Reality is a bitch and the reality is, We're rebuilding, not quite ready for prime time yet, and our QB still has issues. Put the koolaid down, sober up, and think.
