I don't see what the big deal about this guy is. I keep hearing how he's a football guy yadda yadda yadda yet his drafts have been atrocious.

His lone saving grace so far has been Leonard Williams he lucked into with a top five pick.

He's shown he has no concept of how to build a football team. Who the eff drafts TWO QBs in back-to-back drafts then completely guts the team of all it's top weapons, substandard o-line, oh he saw that there's a good crop of QBs coming out in 2018

So he gets a pass for 0-16? GTFOOH.

    GET 'EM ALL OUTTA HERE!!!!

Woody better not half @ss things next offseason. I'm tired of the culture of scapegoating, fingerpointing Woody has created here.

    They're ALL responsible!!!

I originally posted that a 5 win season is in reach. With all the injuries and pi.. poor OL, QB', injured RB's and missing WR's, I'm now down to 2 to 3 wins. And that's based on a fair D.

If this team wins 4 games, I'd say Todd coached a great season. I dont know what Mac did to inspire confidence. If it was up to me, they'd both be gone.

to be fair he took over to start the 2015 offseason. so this is his 3rd off season with the jets. He took over a team in cap hell where according to PFF 12 of our 22 starters were below average. we had 8 good starters but that includes patterson, kerley, and 2 aging lineman (brick and mangold). we had no QBs (geno and vick) so realistically he took over a team with 3 good players richardson, wilkerson, and harrison. and we were in cap hell which is why we lost harrison. Looking back at what he took over i'd be shocked if any GM could have turned this team around in 3 years. Mac did the right thing this offseason. Full rebuild, start from the ground up. You have to give him time to fix it.

Draft wise it's still pretty early to tell but he has landed us williams, moulden, simon, jenkins, burris, shell, peake, marshall, and anderson in 2 offseasons. not looking too bad. plus early reports are maye and adams are the real deal as well. Now going into next year we'll have all our picks (and likely good ones) as well as an ass ton of cap room for free agents plus be in prime position to draft a starting QB in a draft class loaded with talent. I'd say he deserves 3 more years to see it through

I don't even know where to start,
Let's see, 2015 we had plenty of cap room, mac made it rain all off season. Revis got a big contract from mac, skrine too, Cro was back for 5 mil, Marshall got restructured upon arrival. So excuse 1 is absolutely false.
Now let's look at that 2015 draft class
Leo, stud but low hanging fruit
D smith, yikes, 2nd round curse continues?
Mauldin, meh, we are still looking for olbs
    Petty, still holding qb auditions
Jarvis Harrison, not sure he is still here
Dion Simon, actually might be a good pick, may crack the lineup.
So mac came in spent a boat load of money has had 2 drafts, won't grade the 2nd,still early, and 3 years in jets are considered to have the worst roster in the league. And you want to give mac 3 more years?

It is funny you mention 3 more Mac drafts in your post along with bad OL in the title. Mac had HAD 3 years of drafts and has drafted two, count 'em two, OL in 3 years and both in the 5th round. Mac REALLY believes you can have a quality OL with cast offs and late rounders. Almost got Petty killed last year. No protection/no run blocking = no offense. The jets will NEED all 3 QBs this year due to QB injuries with the OL they have.

we made cap room. the roster was pathetic. our CBs were milliner, patterson, and wilson. flat out pathetic. Milliner is out of the NFL, wilson is a backup somehwere, and patterson didn't play a down for us and hasn't been in the NFL since. leaving us with walls and mcdougle in his place. Our safteies were garbage (allen and pryor as a rookie) our Lbers old and garbage (coples out of NFL, pace wa sold and bad, davis who we let walk and now is back) on offense our numbe 3 WR was hill lol. along with kerley and decker as starters. and Geno and vick at QB was a disaster. our roster for 2014 was worse then it is this season.

you are correct about the cap for a little. it wasn't until 2015 when it hit the fan. Mac was the one who brought in marshall though and it worked for a short time. Revis was a terrible signing but we were desperate at CB.

smith was a huge bust yeah. moulden is solid as a 4th round pick, petty is a career backup. again for a 4th rounder hard to complain. harrison late pick idn't pan out it happens. simon was a great grab in the 7th. you also forget anderson as an UDFA, peake in the 7th, marshall as an UDFA. our roster is full of his picks starting for us. lots of late rounds ones too. Hard to complain overall. plus maye and adams look to be studs as well. mac also made the hard choice of cutting the old players and going full rebuild. we owe it to him to see it out. he didn't do idzik level of draft by any means. Hell look at the pats drafts for those 2 years. they had a massive 20 picks and the only ones panning out so far is malcom brown. their drafts for 2015 and 2016 were shit and they had way more picks then us. It's easy to find flaws in any teams drafts. but to pretend mac was terrible is crazy. he was still above average

At this point we are in a good position. not for 2017 but for the future. we have money , we'll have good picks. we have young players with potential we need to see it out. changing the front office and coach every 3-4 years is the perfect way to ensure you'll always suck. good teams have consistent staffs

Mac made the same cap room idzic was going to make, then he built a roster that was not going to have sustained success,if any at all. And now he is back digging out of that spending spree . No matter how you spin it the 3 drafts and off-seasons mac has been here the roster has gotten worse. Indisputable facts. Now I am not calling for his or Bowles head right now but the fact that people are calling him a good gm right now is laughable. He burned up cap space only has 1 good draft pick so far and hasn't answered any of the questions the roster has had since he started. He has nailed a beast d lineman and paid big money for a cb, traded for an oft disgruntled wr, and got a winning season before the whole thing collapsed. But we have seen Tanny do that before.right now he is a few notches below that.

No playmakers, no OL, no franchise QB, no problem. . Jets aren't going anywhere in 2017 so for now it is what it is. That said, I'm still looking forward to checking out the new safeties, the DL, Austin Serfarian-Jenkins, the non-McCown QBs, etc.

It'll eventually sort itself out in 2018....starting Saturday night. . In the meantime, grow, and stay healthy young Jets.

I have a lot more issues with Bowles than Mac. You have to give Mac one more year at minimum to see how the guys he has accumulated work out. ASJ might work out and might not. If he really has a drinking problem then he has a long way to go before we can say he has beaten it.
Jury is still out on the young receivers and QB's. As others have noted, some late picks look like good value. He needs Lee to take a step forward this season.
I do like that he is not afraid to cut players that are not helping.
    I give him a C so far
