They traded a player they were about to cut with a cap hit for a player that can be cut with no cap hit. Moneyball.
This trade bothers he shit out of me for no other reason then we have now spent a 3rd and a 1st to have Demario Davis as a Jet........
Right, that's all I was saying. I actually like Davis but he's got something like a $3 mil cap hit if we keep him on board. That's a lot for a backup.
The Jets were going to remove Pryor from the locker room regardless and they basically got a one year depth rental instead of out right cutting him. It's not nothing, and that's positive in this case. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
this fucker is back again? great ... hopefully they just cut him. Jets couldn't even get a 7th for this dude?
Probably a smart idea, if he's gonna be all pissy about the situation, show the team that kind of attitude will not be tolerated
Again, for the third time and hopefully this time it can be answered: why would the Browns give up anything of value whatsoever for a guy who has been exposed badly the last two years and is entering free agency?
Calvin Pryor should have never been drafted as a Jet to begin with. This kid was a bad pick from the moment we drafted him over WR's such as Brandin Cooks, Kelvin Benjamin, Marqise Lee, Jordan Matthews, Jarvis Landry & Allen Robinson. I'm glad he's now gone. He had potential locker room cancer written all over his personality. Instead of embracing the challenge and working even harder come the offseason... he instead just seemed butthurt over the draftings of both Adams & Maye. He had to go. I'm also happy to have Demario Davis back. He's never been good in pass coverage and has been known to take bad angles at times but he's also always been a good locker room guy & can become solid deph in the trenches behind Darron Lee and David Harris @ IMLB. He's started 63 of his previous 64 games over the past 4 seasons. Last year he put up 59 tackles and 2 sacks for Cleveland. Which is more production than Pryor has ever given us from the S position. But nonetheless I can't wait to see two badass Safeties out of the SEC from LSU & Florida lead the way for our secondary for years to come in Adams & Maye. These two kids are ball players. Pryor will not be missed.
Exactly. He's been exposed as a terrible cover safety that hasn't been able to adjust on the pro level. He's entering free agency. He's skipping OTAs because he's upset. Why would the Browns give up even a 7th?
We need the depth at ILB and Harris is old as hell. Haven't watched him the last couple years so I don't know if his pass coverage got any better.
DAMN, i was so excited to see PYROR TRADED!! Then i saw we got back Demario... Blah. How can a linebacker with so much speed be bad in pass coverage? Pyror is gone. Was going to happen. Out with the old , in with the NEW JETs!!
2014 - #1 ==== Calvin Pryor 2013 - #1 ==== Dee Milliner 2012 - #1 ==== Quinton Coples 2010 - #1 ==== Kyle Wilson 2009 - #1 ==== Mark Sanchez 2008 - #1 ==== Vernon Gholston Unbelieveable. Not to mention our complete & utter $hitty 2nd round drafting. 2 words. Terry. Bradway.
Not great, but not terrible. In one game, can't remember which, he ran down a back who had broken into the secondary headed for the goal line. Davis caught him from behind and saved a TD. Granted, maybe he wasn't stout enough to play inside, but he has speed.
From a drafting point of view this blows as everyone wanted Cooks and we took Pryor what a disaster thank you Idzik ... from a cap point of view we cut Davis and save some money as none of his deal is guaranteed if he sticks around ... watch out
IF we actually save money with no cap hit be releasing Davis then this deal makes some sense,otherwise these are both guys that are,a waste of a roster space in my eyes ,,
