Need a good QB. Period. Nothing else matters. Trade our first and second round pic for Garrapalo. Or Two number ones and a number two for Cousins.

Cousins won't sign an extension here ... and do you honestly think BB will trade him to the Jets ... not a chance in hell

    Wow. Just wow.
Cousins is two 1st round picks for a one year rental.
Only way BB trades Garoppalo to the Jets (Matt Cassel 2.0) is is he sucks.

The Jets could always get Garapolo. They could always. There's always a price that the Patsies would accept for him. The problem is, the actual cost given the fact that the Jets are Patsy division rivals would be so much more than any other team, that it simply would never be worth it? If the asking price for Garappolo would be a 1st rounder for a certain team outside the division? It would be at least twice that amount for a team in the division like the Jets.

At that rate, why take the chance of setting the franchise that much farther back? We would be better served to just stand pat at 6 and take Trubisky (assuming he falls) or Watson. In Watson's case, we could quite possibly trade down and still get Watson. It is a WAY better plan and much more palatable for the front office, fans, etc.

I'm warming up to the idea of Richardson for AJ McCarron. His salary is $690k this year, and he's a restricted free agent next year so we're able to at least get two affordable years out of him, and if we're really lucky draft pick compensation.

Also would allow the Jets to draft a QB with first pick and not have to commit them to the fire immediately.

I'd trade a career backup/below-average starter for a 1st and a 2nd, especially if it means sabotaging a rival team.

Both those trade suggestions are God awful.

The Pats would never trade us Garapolo and to be honest I haven't seen enough of him to justify handing over a ton of assets for him.

Cousins is a good QB, not great, you can probably go to the playoffs with him but I also think the Jets do not have anything worth value to offer the Redskins. We would need to hand them multiple first round picks and also sheldon richardson imo.

Presently the Pats are asking for both of Cleveland's 1st rounders for Garrapalo, including the 1st overall at a minimum.

Yea let's get Garrapplo and setup the Pats very nicely with 2 first round picks and being the Jets picks they will be top 10 minimum. Does anyone else see a problem with giving the Pats 2 first round picks on top of their own. Why not then they can trade up and grab darnold or do whatever they want. Sounds awesome. Lol.

The Jets should do absolutely nothing on the QB front this year but simply let Petty and Hack fight it out for the starting spot. This team is NOT competing for anything other than the #1 overall pick in 2018 period. Makes no sense to spend DP's on a one year rental. If we have to bring in a Vet and I don't know why we should, why not Cutler. He'll get smashed behind our OLine and injured quickly. Cutler won't play thru a hangnail never mind an asskickin. Anybody wanna take bets on if Cutler could survive the hits Petty took behind our HOF Oline last year?? Didn't think so....When (not if) that happens, we're back to Plan A with Hack/Petty starting and gaining experience. If by the end of 2017 they both still suck, then we'll be in great position for the class of 2018 and its potential for multiple FQB's.

Shame on the OP for even suggesting this nonsense....

If the Pats are willing to trade Jimmy G knowing brady is almost done, don't you think that sounds fishy?

2 things come to mind.. Either Garapollo's audition didn't go over that well with Belichek, or knowing the Patriots they're trying to get a ton of very high 1st rounders to restock on the fly. Kinda like a "competitive rebuild" while actually having the means to pull it off. With 40 being the new 30, who's to say how long Brady can still play at a very high level. Then again, he might crash like Revis..Crapshoot for most, but with Belichek.......

We should at least make an offer for Cousins.

If we overpay the Patriots for their glorified backup they will win the next dozen division titles and it will be our own fault.

If the Pats trade us Jimmy G that means either A) We gave up waaaaaay too much for him or B) He's nowhere near as good as everyone thinks. If he's this great up-and-coming QB, the Pats aint trading him within the division.

Kirk is the most overrated QB in the entire league. Giving up two first rounders for a one year rental is straight up insane

  20. Yep. Garropolo played what? 2 games? and got hurt in the second one..?

Matt Cassell..Ryan Mallet...I think I'll pass. Yes..he's a good "prospect" but so were those other 2 guys. If he's so good why wouldn't the Pats wanna groom him to replace Brady?
