How about for the third time you tell me what a wide receivers coach can do for young QBs? Chip is a lune with his schemes but his resume has stuff on it. Strange, but true.

Ok I'll stick to blind faith. Todd Bowles is working out so well. The fact is him and his new project oc will be gone after this season anyway. Cheerio

My initial reaction was "meh." Don't know much about him, so I'll refrain from any in depth analysis.

But a first timer, who doesn't sound like he has any experience grooming a young QB, does not inspire too much confidence.

But I could be wrong, and I'm hoping this guy can bring out the best for our young players.

Hey didn't he play in the CFL? And some team in Switzerland? He was wr coach of some teams that almost did something. That's enough credentials to argue over.

I'm giving him a chance though to surprise me. Pretty much all coaches start as as position coach somewhere.

Doesn't sound like you're giving him the opportunity to prove himself.

I just hope this guy realizes how much better Powell is than Forte and utilizes his skill set.

The quarterback has everything to do with the offense doing well.

Maybe this guy has a better idea of a QB than Chan Gailey, who had a part in signing Ryan Fitzpatrick to two different teams and getting him paid by both.

I have no expectations for this guy, but he probably has to have more to offer than deifying a career backup QB over and over again.

At least he has coached on offenses that were consistently productive.

I am critical. I'm tired of them missing the point. A lot of it will depends on who is behind Center. It seems like if you need to really get your young guys ready to run the offense you need someone to teach them. I see nothing in his resume that leads,me to believe he has any experience. But again, it means nothing. Morton will likely be following Bowles out the door sooner rather than later. Do I hope he works out? Of course. Do I think he will? Mmmmgoing with not.

You're not wrong. Ryan was the perfect fit for Chan and his updated schemes. It would be nice to see them work in a pass catching te. But, that being said, I don't see a damn thing in his resume that gives me more than blind hope, other than he was on teams that made some noise.

Finally, an end to what seemed to be an unorthodox search for an OC and filling a position they knew LAST year would be vacant.

Who are they? Serious question. I don't have time to investigate and research these things, so if you really think there were 5 other options who could have groomed a quarterback, please share so the rest of the forum can benefit. Otherwise your just bitching and moaning, which we all do enough on here. (Justifiably so, but distinguish yourself by backing it up!)

This stinks of high school dorkery. Serious reply. If you can type that whole damn post you sure as hell could type into Google top 2017 oc candidates as I could. And what would it prove? Not a fucking thing. I'm not here to impress anyone. Get over it.

Yanno what? The man at least knows what a successful modern offense looks like. I don't think he's gonna be held by one philsophy over another and that can't be bad. Hell, he'll be able to recognize what a TE actually looks like catching a pass thanks to JimmyG. I like the signing and hope the guy turns into a savant with us. Even if TB gets canned in 2017, the new guy just might keep this man on the staff.
