Lol, yes, because it was an A+ pick in the seventh round. Look at the poster above me, he got an A+ for the same pick in the seventh round I know it's not the best of drafts, no one really knows what most of these guys are going to be like anyway, it's just how my draft fell, Garret, Robinson were gone by the time the 6th pick came around so I traded down one spot and picked up a couple of picks in the later rounds. I got back the 4th the jets used to get Shell and additional 5th.
I have been playing this game for a couple years now. Player rankings get changed or updated. More importantly there is a random element so an A+ pick in one draft could be an A- pick in another. Needs can also change a good pick for one team to a less good pick for another team.
Arrgghhh, now I have to do it again. I was actually content with my first draft and I was going to follow the players I picked next year.
Here is my second draft, no trades this time. Your score is: 8657 (GRADE: C) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 6: Myles Garrett, DE/OLB, Texas A&M (A+) Round 2 Pick 6: Desmond King, CB, Iowa (A) Round 3 Pick 6: Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky (A-) Round 5 Pick 6: Dan Skipper, OT, Arkansas (B) Round 6 Pick 6: Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado (B) Round 7 Pick 6: Amba Etta-Tawo, WR, Syracuse (A+)
here is my mock done on another app Trades: (15, 47, 120) from IND for (6) Picks: Rd 1 Pk 15 - Takkarist McKinley (OLB 3/4) UCLA Rd 2 Pk 38 - Quincy Wilson (CB) Florida Rd 2 Pk 47 - David Njoku (TE) Miami Rd 3 Pk 70 - Antonio Garcia (OT) Troy Rd 4 Pk 120 - Nathan Peterman (QB) Pittsburgh Rd 4 Pk 137 - James Conner (RB) Pittsburgh Rd 5 Pk 151 - Rayshawn Jenkins (FS) Miami (Fla.) Rd 6 Pk 192 - Sean Harlow (G) Oregon State Rd 7 Pk 228 - Jeremy Cutrer (CB) Middle Tennessee If the simulator is dropping Garrett down to 6, why fool yourself into thinking you can get him. draftwired kicks ass
there's a good chance McKinley ends up being as disruptive as garrett and he's a perfect fit in a 3/4
If we get Garret in this draft we are ahead of schedule on the rebuild. We still need a LT and a QB but we haven't had a decent outside pass-rusher since John Abraham.
I think a trade down to get the attainable McKinley is more realistic. mcKinley will likely be a very special pass rusher who's ideally suited for the 3/4.
My highest score yet.. Your score is: 9375 (GRADE: B) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 20 (DEN): Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina (A) Round 2 Pick 6: Garett Bolles, OT, Utah (A-) Round 2 Pick 13 (ARI): Carl Lawson, DE/OLB, Auburn (A-) Round 2 Pick 20 (DEN): Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford (A+) Round 3 Pick 6: Quenton Nelson , OG, Notre Dame (B+) Round 3 Pick 13 (ARI): Jake Butt, TE, Michigan (A+) Round 4 Pick 20 (DEN): Taywan Taylor, WR, Western Kentucky (A) Round 5 Pick 6: Davon Godchaux, DT, LSU (A+) Round 6 Pick 6: Matthew Dayes, RB, NC State (A) Round 7 Pick 6: Chuck Clark, FS, Virginia Tech (F) Edit: JK - this one is Your score is: 10320 (GRADE: A-) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 6: Myles Garrett, DE/OLB, Texas A&M (A+) Round 2 Pick 6: Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina (A+) Round 3 Pick 17 (WASH): Conor McDermott, OT, UCLA (B-) Round 4 Pick 17 (WASH): Artavis Scott, WR, Clemson (A+) Round 4 Pick 18 (TENN): Kevin King, CB, Washington (A) Round 5 Pick 6: Davon Godchaux, DT, LSU (A+) Round 6 Pick 6: Matthew Dayes, RB, NC State (A) Round 7 Pick 6: Amba Etta-Tawo, WR, Syracuse (A+) If we get Dayes in the 6th I'll be extremely excited.
I'd flip and take King rd 3/17 and Mcdermott will probably still be around at 4/18 King won't last till rd 4 IMO. Dayes is a nice back, not a fan of Scott, was Switzer available there at 4/17
Yeah he was. I think I got fortunate with this draft with people still on the board where I took them. Garrett at 6, Trubisky in 2nd, King in 4th. In all of these drafts Dayes is available in the sixth but I think he may go in the 4th in the actual draft. I think he will be a pretty damn good back in the NFL.

The following in essence, is why I HATE this draft game. The morons that run the site think they know the Jets' needs and they really don't. They never have. Second is their scoring. They give you points for lots of trades, and in real life all the trades never happen. In the draft below, I didn't have one pick rated below a B, and totally remade our D and yet I got a B-. I addressed needs at OLB, TE, & CB which the site had listed, but also at FS and RB which the site didn't have listed as needs. I like Artavis Scott, but only took him because he was a value pick. The same goes for Budda Baker. I really wanted a CB in round 2 and a TE in round 3, but the draft didn't fall that way. Your score is: 9435 (GRADE: B-) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 6: Myles Garrett, DE/OLB, Texas A&M (A+) Round 2 Pick 7: Budda Baker, FS, Washington (A-) Round 3 Pick 6: Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan (A) Round 5 Pick 6: Artavis Scott, WR, Clemson (A+) Round 6 Pick 7: James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh (A) Round 7 Pick 6: Cole Hikutini, TE, Louisville (B) I think the following could be a very good draft. I only took the OT in the 7th round because it still showed as a need. The game is stupid, I'm not taking a DT when we don't need one. I'm not reaching for players. I traded down and got extra picks and addressed a lot of needs. The stupid game didn't give me credit for McKinley as an OLB even though he's listed as that first Your score is: 9643 (GRADE: B) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 11 (N.O.): Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson (A+) Round 2 Pick 7: Takkarist McKinley, OLB/DE, UCLA (A-) Round 2 Pick 10 (N.O.): Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson (A) Round 3 Pick 6: Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson (A) Round 3 Pick 12 (N.O.): Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky (A) Round 5 Pick 6: Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma (A+) Round 6 Pick 7: Ryan Switzer, WR, North Carolina (A) Round 7 Pick 6: J.J. Dielman, OT, Utah (C) Your score is: 10436 (GRADE: B+) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 6: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama (A) Round 2 Pick 21 (DET): David Njoku, TE, Miami (Fla.) (A) Round 3 Pick 6: Rasul Douglas, CB, West Virginia (A-) Round 3 Pick 21 (DET): Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee (A-) Round 4 Pick 21 (DET): Patrick Mahomes II, QB, Texas Tech (A+) Round 5 Pick 6: Jarron Jones, DT, Notre Dame (A+) Round 6 Pick 7: Sean Harlow, OG, Oregon State (A) Round 7 Pick 6: James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh (A+) I don't really like this last draft, but was trying to figure out what the simulator thought were the best picks. Robinson might be decent, but there were other players that I think are much better, but the simulator doesn't see them as needs or any better than Robinson. I know nothing about Njoku, but they have him rated higher than Butt of Michigan, and have him as a 1st rounder, so he was a value pick. I addressed a lot of needs except for the DT pick, but the pick I like the most is Mahomes in the 4th round and Conner in the 7th round. I don't think the Jets will take Mahomes or any QB this year except maybe Watson if he's there. They can't keep 4 QBs again, need a veteran QB, and I can't see their cutting either Petty or Hack. Conner and Kamara would definitely upgrade the backfield.
i don't know which simulator that is, I assume it's fanspeak or first-pick. They both are junk IMO. And I'm not even talking about their player rankings. Just in general, they have (especially fanspeak) dominated the draft app world with crappy products. Along comes the unknown draftwired and that app makes them look downright silly
You really get punished for those Bs and Cs, even if it is a garbage pick in round seven. Also, if you get an A- or worse chances are that there was another player available at the same position that was ranked higher. Needs are not all that important to the simulator (they do factor in somehow) and it will punish you severely for reaching. Also, if you only trade down and have too many selections (12+??) you will be punished for that. This year it seems especially difficult to break 11,000 (I only did it once or twice). I am wondering if there is a random element to the player rankings to keep you from simply memorizing who went early in prior drafts. In some of my best drafts I traded up and down but I still do not fully understand the scoring formula.
