Lol right. And I am one of those season ticker holders. Yeah I like that strategy, I know everyone will pick it apart but I think it's realistic. OL, edge rusher and CB early in this draft. I would love to see a stud RB too but that's probably asking too much. Build the roster and then the team sucks in 2017 and get your franchise QB in 2018. There may be a new CS by then but that's the price you pay to get the franchise changer.
I'm not sure if we're legally required to spend a certain amount But I do strongly agree about building the line first. It will take some time to jell anyway So, if we're getting a franchise QB in 2018, it would be great if the line had a one-year head start I'm not so anxious about CB/FS if the plan is to tank in 2017...I'd rather see us build the foundation of an offense
It's the only thing that gets me through winter until baseball season starts since the Knicks usually suck..... At least we have Porzingis!
Yeah Porzingist is special But the my 2 favorite Teams Knicks and Jets must be drinking outa the same well cause with Rose and Carmello and Phil Jackson its looney tunes over there too
If Griese/Marino, Kelly and Brady had gotten creamed with early-career knee injuries and had to wear a 5 lb brace for the rest of their career the Fish, Bills and Pats would have had 2 year runs also instead of a decade.
If Porzingis was on the Warriors or the 80's Celtics or the 90's Bulls he'd be one of the best contributing players ever in the NFL. He's not Larry Bird or Michael Jordan - he's Kevin McHale or Scottie Pippen. The Knicks season turned south when the offense suddenly had to revolve around Porzingis because Carmelo Anthony was missing games and Derrick Rose was missing games. Where Porzingis would really flourish is in a scheme where ball movement is everything and 3 guys touch the ball after midcourt on every play. When he sets up for a shot down low everything slows down and the rest of the team slows down, just like when Anthony does that.
Forget about this season, the whole franchise turned south when they got rid of Jeremy Lin. Didn't think a brain trust could be dumber than the Jets, but I think the Knicks are right there.
Letting Jeremy Lin go wasn't the problem. The problem was believing Carmelo Anthony was anything more than a stat compiler and also-ran. When you make a turd like that guy be the flow of your offense, you deserve to fail. That whole Melo-Mare fiasco was high comedy. The Knicks are another team that doesn't get it and hasn't in a very long time.
I need butt band surgery after all the god damn snacks I've been inspired to eat. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
They gotta lose that Dooshbag asap. The idea that they're not making the right decisions to support Meelo is bullshit. My highlight so far was when Kevin Garnett dissed his wife on the court and blew his fuckin mind, lol
My highlight so far is Carmelo ripping his own team publicly and in the locker room because they went to their best player to ice the game, and then when defense mattered, a little short dude shot the game winner right in the face of this bitch that has never bothered to play defense in his life. He's the one telling his teammates how to win. Fucking dude didn't even raise an arm. Lmao. A close runner up to that highlight was Derek Rose saying everyone was talking about the Knicks as a "superteam".
And the bitch was shaking his head smirking as Hornacek was calling the play in the huddle. I'd rather lose with young guys, role players, and journeyman, who are all in and play for the team. Fuck him hard. I can hardly look at the shit. He's horrible.
The only position I'm fine with signing a stop-gap at is left tackle. We need at least an NFL caliber left tackle so that the quarterback doesn't get killed like Wayne Hunter almost got Sanchez killed every week on the right side. Outside of that, no player should be signed over the age of 26. There are plenty of free agents next year that are only 26. A 3-4 year deal then puts said player at 29-30 and we can let them go without an issue. If we sign another aging corner or runningback I'm going to be furious. Our primary running backs have been at the end of their NFL careers with LT, Thomas Jones, and now Forte. We also need to look towards drafting a modern day runningback that is at least a little bit nimble rather than bowling ball like LaMont Jordan and Shonn Greene. Draft a runningback. Run him into the ground, let him go at the end of his rookie contract. Rinse and repeat. Luckily we're stuck with Bilal Powell and Matt Forte to combine their contracts in being a top 7-8ish paid rushing attack. Some aspects of this franchise like signing Matt Fucking Forte proves how behind the times we are. It's like we figured out we need a receiving runningback four years after the rest of the league did but we decided to fill that void with an old guy and sign his backup to the same contract then not use him til week 12. If they valued Powell at the same number as Forte, why sign Forte? /end rant
I'm in almost total agreement with you. I think there is one 27 year-old player on that list of top FAs I would sign, but that's not an absolute must, so I would be happy with none older than 26 except for the LT spot. We definitely need to fix that spot in FA so that whoever is playing QB doesn't get killed. I'm also in agreement regarding the RB position.
