http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...staff-failing-manage-injury-article-1.2928014 Taken from the NYDN: Not sure what to make of this. Seems Wilk just threw the training staff under the perverbial bus, then cleans it up at the end of the interview. It does explain the tremendous drop off in his play though. Lets see what 2017 has in store for Wilk. Especially with that defensive genius Kacy Rodgers coming back one more time to lead his defense into battle.
Sure, the medical staff is responsible for player health. It's the player's responsibility to communicate how they are feeling with the staff so that they know what to do and take action. As anyone whose gone through any sort of medical procedure can tell you, the greatest patient advocate is yourself.
"Wilkerson says the gaffe was mutual" But the writer goes on to blame the training staff only because that makes for a better story line. I'm going to think this is not as big as a deal as the writer would like it to be.
"Wilkerson claims the gaffe was “mutual.” But the training staff is ultimately responsible for maintaining player health." Is he not a grown ass man?!
I personally saw the NY Jets training staff feeding MoWilk German beer and chicken wings 3 times a day until he gained a 50lb gut.
Very similar article from the NY Post.. Two different writers, same conclusion.. http://nypost.com/2016/12/30/muhammad-wilkerson-blames-jets-training-staff-for-poor-start/
Post the article, i don't click for the post. He was quoted as sayimg "we" in the other article. "we and "i" don't sound like words you use to blame other people. but these writers know who they can hook with a headline though. Sorry cman, but you are being "hysterical jet fan" on thos one. spit the hook, don't let manish reel you in
You know thinking about this, I wonder if that's why Mo didn't sign that franchise tag at first? Mo has to do better on his own, but the injuries this year, people coming in out of shape like Bowles telling Marshall to lose weight.
Eh, i think it is exactly what he said. he never had a major injury and didn't know how to handle it. trainers probably should have been more conservative but he should have spoke up. last year we stayed relatively healthy, in a sport that has a 100% injury rate these years are going to happen. Its hilarious that people are reading this and getting outraged.
