how does it feel folks. the jets won a game that we definitely were not supposed to win.......

this win has sent shock waves thru the NFL, trust me, and has put the rest of the teams on our schedule on alert.

and just how many of you were thinking about the same ole jets after the pats scored a touchdown and get the 2 pt conv. i know i was bitchin after that and was hoping the offense could get a 1st down or 2. shit if it was edwards and hackett we definitely do NOT win in regulation. no way.

How many times during the past 3 DECADES have the jets won the tough road game that everyone figured they would choke. Not very many. The dissapointments far, far outweigh the surprises. In recent memory they won the charger wild card game and the last oakland game to get into the playoffs and, and...... IMO even those 2 are up for debate cause the jets were given some life in those games and it wasn't a shock. For completeness you can maybe throw in the 2002 pats game and the colt wild card game but IMO the pats game in NE on sunday takes the cake - even if its a regular season game.

personally i didn't think we would win one of these games until some time next year but the club is definitely ahead of "schedule" - especially on the sidelines where the coaches, starting with EM, are giving the fans something to look forward to and a lot less to bitch about on these boards.

i posted several days ago how i thought the defense had to be overhauled and that the horses are just not on the roster yet - good timing huh! - well the defense still needs an overhaul though it may not be as drastic if they continue to gel. nonetheless once we get more juice in talent on the defense we will be a force come year 3 of this program.

boy its nice to finally be on this side of the fence.

    enjoy the week

    jil

I was VERY happy to finally see a pass rush....... especially when it meant knocking Brady's ass in the dirt :)

It was a great win. I just wish we had taken the Browns down like we were supposed to. The playoffs would really be in reach if we had done that. However, we stole one that we weren't suppose to so it is a good day.

This post is great...I honestly thought after the crucial Browns loss this team would tailspin going up against New England then Chicago, dropping this team to 4-6.

But the win Sunday gave me a whole new perspective on this team. It was a great win, cannot be any happier.

The win vs the patriots takes alot of pressure of this bears game. Even if we lose (I think we will win) we would be 5-5 and have zero teams with winning records left. If they go 5-1 they make the playoffs.

Lets wait and see what happens!

The playoffs will be for JETS only with a 11-5 record

    Every Year

you can count on winning one or two games you're not supposed to and losing one or two that you shouldn't. I think that we can beat the Bears this Sunday. Theres going to be a let down for them coming off the Giant game. They made a huge deal out of that in their minds and they play the Pats next week. So, we might catch 'em flat. Also, I'm not sold on Grossman. I think our D can confuse him and put pressure on him. The key is going to be how our Oline plays. If Barlow can have a game like he had against the Pats we'll have a great chance.

This is a great thread, but let us not forget we lost to the Browns, a game we were supposed to win.

It can go both ways. The NE game rights the wrong the Jets committed against the Browns.

Let's see how we fair against the Bears.

I know the schedule is realtively easy "so to speak" after that, but all it will take is some poor productivity our of the O or the D to start letting RB's go for 7 yards a pop, and we could lose any one or quite a few more of the remaining 7 games.

The Texans, for example, beat the Jaguars in the Jags house. I don't have to remind anyone what happened to us when we played the Jags.

If we want to win we have to play like we did last weekend no matter who it is. Then we should do pretty good. If the guys and coaches continue to work hard and study and give it all they have on the field then we can continue to see more good things.

I think most on this board would agree that we are ahead of shedule in terms of team re-build and righting the wrong of last year. Mangini has exceded my expectations and to think he should improove over the next couple of years is hard to believe.

Not true at all. We are currently 7th in the AFC. And have by far the easiest sched left of any other team, except the Pats.

10-6 will make it with a little help.

I dont agree. Play out the jets games, the kc games and the jax games -- and you will see that 10-6 is certainly possible and even 9-7

We lost to the Browns, a game we were supposed to win. When we win the games we are supposed to win then we will be a good team. I do not take any of the reming games on the schedule for granted. We are not good enought to dismiss any team.

That pretty much sums up my feelings as well. But it sure was nice beating Belichick at his own game....

The Patriots lost a game they were supposed to win Sunday...

I mean, it happens people. The Browns loss does sting, not as much as the Colts game, but it still hurts. Way to rebound after the BYE though.

Why don't we just go 12 - 4 and have a bye week, win the divisionals at home, win the AFC Championships at home, and then win the Super Bowl?

I am sorry, but teams dont have off days? We have only lost one game that we "were" supposed to win, and that was against a Browns team that is playing MUCH better football now with their new OC. We have been a contender in every game but one this season. Including the "Best" team in the league right now in the Colts. We are a far better team then what a lot of you think, and I have no doubts that we will be a contender for the playoffs, and probably within the playoffs.

How good are we though? Honestly? When you look at the games we have played, I think it is WAY to hard to judge. I guess that is just me.

My problem is that our defense has been consistently bad this year. Until I see a performance like the last week and a half continue for a few games, it is difficult for me to believe we will win on a consistent basis....

This is true, but after last week you have to be more optimistic that our D will get things turned around. A win like this can only help this team out, and I am hopefull that our D will continue to keep looking outside the box, and do things that are neccessary to keep our opponents off pace. Just like we did with the Patsies with our Blitz packages that we finally came up with, and I could not think of a better game to get pressure on a very leathal QB like, Brady. I have faith.... All I can do.

Now just imagine a program like Kansas State taking down powerhouse Texas, and how they felt.
