    Coach of the Week:

Eric Mangini, head coach, New York Jets. "It's a great testament to the hard work of these players and coaches much more than anything individual for me,'' Mangini said over the phone from the Jets' charter Sunday night.

But if you know anything about human nature, you know how big this was for the man who walked into the house where he cut his coaching teeth and beat the great coach who mentored him through the business and beat the quarterback who is the definition of clutch in football today. "It felt pretty good,'' said Mangini.

Get off of our bandwagon Mr. King and go help your boy Tommy Brady lick his wounds....

You have proved me wrong Green Guy. I thought no one cared about Peter King.

I love Peter King, despite his obvious Pats love/Jets hate. His articles, especially his MMQB article, is a great read.

    That's 2001 for me unfortunately.

King was ruined by the Pat's dynasty. To be a great sports writer you need to be objective, and King lost his objectivity and his greatness the night Brady's fumble was over-ruled in the snow. That it happened against the Raiders, a team I love to hate, makes it sadder.

The hell with Peter King, whether he's writing something positive or not the man is an effing moron. Don't doubt the fact if we lose to the Bears next week he'll be amongst the first to pile on.

Actually he's a very smart guy on an intellectual level and he's kind of funny. Pete Prisco on the other hand meets your definition above.

If you had a chance to talk to him on an unscripted level you'd understand what I'm saying. There's a reason he's such a heavy hitter in the Hall of Fame balloting every year.

Not to be cavalier or anything. But I could care less if he was a member of mensa. On football matters I will always consider the man to be a cut below the rest. He use to hold some credibilty, way before information was more difficult to obtain and the internet was still in it's infancy.

Your point about the internet diminishing everybody's influence is a very good one. Information is not that hard to come by and there are no high priests, in any field, at this point. Well, except maybe for Warren Buffet.

Maybe so, but his football knowledge seems sorely lacking IMO, especially for someone who seems so highly regarded....
