Geno to be named starting QB, per Schefter

Guess they are committing to getting a nice draft pick. Any decent quarterbacks in next years draft?
Also there is a difference in wanting someone to fail and knowing they will fail. Maybe that punch knocked some sense in into Geno's thick skull but after seeing last weeks preview I highly doubt it.

I really want RB foursette if we suck enough to land him.

 

Kizer, the kid from Clemson, and Kaaya are terrible choices. This is the weakest QB class ive seen in awhile.

 

What are the chances we see Fitz back sometime in the 3rd quarter on Sunday's game?

 

It was obvious a change needed to be made, and they made it.

At this point, that's all I am looking for. If Geno sucks and the change becomes apparent again, hopefully it'll happen again.

 

I sent Metha a Tweet in which I suggested he stick with soccer or rugby which I presume he has some knowledge in since he has zero FB brains

 

Personally, I wouldn't mind Geno showing some potential out there. While I have no faith in him as our future QB, we might score a draf pick if he shows some talent for once and we trade him.

However, I also agree with the Petty sentiments. Give Geno a few starts and let Petty get some practice now that he is getting back from injury. Then give him the end part of the season. By the time this season is over we should know what we have in three of our four QBs. We will either have a fantastic draft pick, one of our QBs will have stepped up and shown they really can be the future, or maybe even both (though not likely).

Edit: well, scratch trading him since I forgot this is the last year of his contract. Basically he either shows he has a future with us or he doesn't. I'm guessing he doesn't, but who knows...

 

We can't trade him since it will be past the deadline then he becomes a free agent

I'm so happy I don't have to ride the journeyman qb roller coaster anymore. Thank you for benching the beard. I realize we have a lot of more issues going on than just the QB, but benching the beard was the right move. Now we can evaluate Geno Smith in what is essentially his 3rd year, seeing how he didn't get to play last season. I'm ready for the youth movement. I'm patient to build a winner. I just want to have hope. I want to feel like we have something to look forward to next season. I'm looking so forward to the rest of the season, win or lose.

 

Look on the bright side: we aren't Lions fans.
