Geno was not beating up that defense he was taken what they gave him underneath passes or he was until he did not step up into the pocket or feel the defender hence poor pocket sense comment. Then he forced the ball into an interception. He won't be here next yr we need to find out about Petty before playing Geno
You know you maybe right... they look listless and uncaring. Why should they when they have a bad CS....
Petty pratice the 1st time last week and if we are right he may get more reps and eventually - hopefully - get in the game so we can flush these two turds.
According to one of the media people Johnson is pissed/upset about the way the team is playing... so yea the clock has started on bowles.
Thats exactly what i see as well. A team that quits. That defense gave up last night. You could see it immediately to begin the second half. Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
The path to #1 overall pick begins next week! The last thing this team needs to get near .500 to end the season. That would be devastating. I don't want to see any more Geno, I'd like to see Petty, if anything. Geno has the wrong attitude and he simply sucks. The time out he took yesterday and the fumble and pick. We've seen that rerun already. It's PETTY TIME!
Here's the problem with the "relief pitcher" logic that Bowles says he claims he was subscribing to last night: Why would you wait until we are down 28-3 before bringing in the relief pitcher??? The concept of the relief pitcher is that, when your starter doesn't have it, you replace him with someone who tries to help you win the game. But, if you wait until the game is decided, then you accomplish nothing. Bowles brought Geno into garbage time of a game that had been over for about half a quarter. Wouldn't it have made more sense to give Geno the entire second half? The way Bowles did it, the Jets lost both ways: The attempted relief didn't come early enough to give them a chance to win the game AND they put the guy who they supposedly consider to be their unquestioned "starter" through the indignity of getting benched. WHY?
Why would Bowles play Petty?... If we go 3-13 he could get fired with a stacked roster like this 'on paper'
WHAT??!!! "It was 4th down and he had to force it somewhere???" Since when does a QB "have" to force it somewhere? Good QB's throw the ball away, that's one of the differences between good and bad QB's! Ron
I'm beginning to think Bowles is keeping Fitz in to save his job.. He & his team were kept hostage all offseason & everything was make or break based on Fitz's return. What better way to diffuse finger pointing at 1 self than to let your god awful yet egotistical QB fall on his own sword for you. Why else would you keep marching out this nonsense at QB. How can Fitz give you the best chance at winning when he fails at the # 1 essential function of BEING a modern day QB? Throwing & taking care of the football? It's to the point where the team is LIFELESS. If you're telling me the other options are even worse..I'm calling bullshit until I see it for myself. Cause this is pretty damn putrid.
A good QB throws it away on 4th down? I guess Jay Cutler is the best ever. You do realize that still counts as a turnover, right?
It's not too small a sample of Geno, he has shown the same habits that he came into the NFL with. Regarding Grudens comments, remember he has a good paying job and he won't push the envelope to the point that it might get him fired, he will toe the line. Gruden also said after the interception by Smith, that the jets might not win with either of the qbs under center. In my opinion neither QB is NFL roster worthy at this point.
Good Qbs throw it away on 4th down?, so the other team gets the ball at the original LOS instead of further down field. Go back and look at that play, it was not a bad pass - Honey Badger just beat our scrub receiver. If it were Marshall instead, it would not have been intercepted and very well could have been a completion. Fitz's touchdown last week or the week before to Marshall was a much worse pass, sometimes it is not the end result that dictates whether or not it was a good throw or decision.
It was garbage time but the Geno was hitting some wide open receivers, however the habits that killed him early in his career showed up. The fumble was on him not because he made a bad read but because he failed to step up into the pocket, he stood at the top as the outside rush started coming around, he could have earned a couple of more seconds simply by stepping up. The interception was his fault because the pass came out late, the ball should have been on its way as the receiver broke the route to the outside, you can't throw the out pattern after the cut by receiver. After 3 years it's still the same bad fundamental football by Geno.
