Panthers surpringly just released him. Rivera said he was in open competition and then proceeded to be the main culprit in giving up 300 yards to Julio. His conditioning isn't up to par as well...but would you take a flyer (Jets seem to be playing more zone anyways lately...)
Nah, Burris looks good, Marcus Williams and Skrine are both solid and Revis will be back soon and is still a good CB. No interest in someone who just gave up 300 yards.
No. I've seen him and the Panthers play a lot. IMO he's not a starting quality CB. He's only a depth-type player, and not even a particularly good one at that. With the problems in the Panthers' secondary after Norman left, if the Panthers released him, then that speaks volumes, especially if he's not in shape. That speaks to his work ethic and desire to be the best he can. He evidently was just there for the paycheck. Let him go drive a truck.
If we put any of our CB's on JJ 1:1 all day with no help or adjustments the same thing would happen. Since he's getting all the blame it seems that's what they did.
Jesus, chill out with those observations. Plenty of people in the history have been benched and released. Doesn't mean they can't play, doesn't mean they can't play for somebody else. Bring him in for depth. I rather have him for depth instead of Keeton from the PS who Bowles plans on calling up if he has to. That said, it ain't happening. Somebody in front of us is going to claim him. Probably the Browns.
