King Koopa for next GM! I know your not sorry, and you shouldn't be for being right about Fitz in this case. But saying "told ya so" when all we want is a successful NY Jets team can get annoying real fast. It sucks that they are 1-3 and nearly out of the playoffs and it looks like Bowles isnt the answer. I'm disappointed and really wished Fitz could turn his career around. And I enjoyed last year and had hopes they would improve this year. Oh well. And btw, it doesnt make you right about Geno.
I enjoyed last year too but that final game against Buffalo left a real sour taste in my mouth.....Made me truly realize Fitz is the same old Fitz that has been a bottom of the barrel QB his whole career I never said Geno would be good either I just always said a battle of him vs Petty would be better for our team and the future of the franchise. More so because we move on from the proven loser in Fitz....Don't see how I could be wrong about that
BTW....here you go: http://forums.theganggreen.com/thre...ld-you-have-drafted.86770/page-3#post-3450639
I don't think I can be bothered to find the post but as I posted a couple of times last year every team with a winning record over time has had a top tier QB on the roster during that time - until we solve the problem of never having a really good QB (which as a franchise we have never had) then all the coaching changes in the world are not going to make enough of a difference
Nice! Like I said King Koopa for GM. Either way seems like they are rolling with Fitz so I hope he gets better real fast or else it's going to be an unenjoyable season.
I'd say you're pretty right about half the fans wanting Fitzpatrick back, but you're dead wrong about why. It wasn't because they didn't see what Fitz was but saw all too well what the options were. There are no aces in the deck, probably not even any picture cards and it's too soon to see if two out of three cards are even better than the trey they've seen perform. You sit on the nine or ten.
The problem is Fitz is a 3 or a 4 that tricked people like he always does into believing he was a 9 or 10 which was what I was saying Like I said before I would have been fine with almost anything as long as it wasn't wasting money and a season on Fitz.... Whatever though hopefully the rest of the team steps it up if he's going to be out there slinging picks for fun
Forget about #8, this guy just can't shut the fuck up, maybe he should catch the ball in his big mouth, he keeps dropping it with his hands
This team took a huge step backward bringing Six back. If we started Geno we would have been on the QB fast track. Instead we are dicking around with Sixpatrick.
Here's one thing they could try.......pick up the tempo a little on offense!! They walk slowly to the huddle, meander up to the line, Fitz adjusts his pads and brushes his beard, they roll the play clock down to nothing and then snap it. All game long they put everyone to sleep but the defense. Then it comes time for the two minute drill and they are running up and down all over the defense. They played with an step up in tempo early on in the Cincy game and for a lot of the Buffalo game and they looked great. Idk if KC shook their confidence, but they've been slower than muddy pond water on a cold november day ever since!!!! and the offense has gone to hell with it.
With all due respect to your opinion, many of us didn't want him back @ $8-9m let alone 12m. I felt he was and is mediocre but lets face it Geno is not the answer. I hope Petty is... be we'll see. BTW, I disagree with your assessment about MAC...except for Fitz he has does a much better job as a GM thenany of the past 6 guys... just go back and check them out.
I just think bringing Fitz back was and is a waste of time and money....I personally hate weak armed QBs just because I think you need a strong arm to win in the NFL or just be insanely smart and pinpoint accurate..usually both Also, where did I say anything about Mac? He botched the QB position but overall I think he's been OK
All those NFL professionals were tricked and you weren't? What are you doing sitting home in that tattered old easy chair in your grandmother's basement? Get yourself to the NFL, man! They need you!
All of those NFL professionals weren't tricked because no one wanted to sign Fitz....except for us So yeah we were "tricked" along with fans like yourself You act like fans can't ever be right and "NFL Professionals" are 100% accurate....get real
Of course putting in Petty would reengergize the team and fan base. The thing is that Bowles won't do that unless we lose the next two weeks. Then at 1-5, and most likely out of the playoffs, they will put him in. That is if he's even healthy of course.
Bringing this post back just to show how hard it would have been for Bowles to bench Revis or other players before the season ended...fan base wouldn't have stood for it. He did one right thing by letting the players show how bad they are so cutting them in the off season was no problem. Ron
