I think you're overreacting. The title is misleading, but his points that we're going to learn about the team and Bowles over the next 4 weeks are valid. The team could just as easily be 0-3 right now. The secondary has been abysmal. Fitz has been more down than up. Marshall and Decker are hurt. Bowles and Gailey haven't been making adjustments. The game plans have been flawed. Clock management has been bad. The D has lots of new faces and as a unit still aren't playing all that well together. They're playing some very tough teams. Things could definitely spiral downhill quickly if Fitz plays poorly in the next couple of games.

But in all reality, the next 3 teams all look beatable...the issue is that we do too...

This team will be forged by fire or turned to ashes. I like the fact that our "tough" games are early. Glad the Jets got a wake up call ( Chiefs ). Team needs to have more urgency. Team needs to grow up and quickly.

Well if there is any team that could find a way to go 1-16 it would be the jets.

Agreed. I think the Chiefs game may be a blessing in disguise. I think things will be looked at more closely now that may otherwise have been ignored if we had won the game.

The Jets have been notoriously slow starters since Rex Ryan's inaugural season. IMO, from that standpoint nothing has changed even with a new HC.
Honestly? In 2009 and 2010, I liked that they started slow. Those were very good teams and I viewed them as taking a few punches until they got angry. I know it sounds stupid, but I must say I enjoyed it. Soon thereafter however, it became a big time problem because the team was unable to come back...

It's very possible that we go on a LONG losing streak. Unfortunately, the last 8 years have been a constant case of robbing Peter to pay Paul. Our defense is good, but our offense sucks. We improve our offense but now the defense sucks. Then, we have a good offense, a good secondary, and a terrible pass rush. Now we have good offensive weapons but an inconsistent QB, a good pass rush but no secondary. Year after year: One thing gets fixed, then another thing breaks. In the midst of this, we again have a coach who doesn't seem to know how to prepare for games; since Bowles took over, the team almost never seems to get in gear until at least the 2nd quarter, if at all. You can beat weak teams like that, but against teams like the Chiefs, Seahawks, Steelers, and Patriots, we're up shit creek. I'm predicting that at mid-season, we're 2-6.

I had no idea there was a police force on this site that would scold me for posting what THEY view as a poor title. Please get a grip.......

    It's an opinion.
I hear most folks have one.

So I guess Darrelle Revis must be suffering from CLS also right??? He called today's game a "MUST WIN". I guess the whole panel from Jets post game must be overreacting as well??

The title of this thread 100% appropriate and this is truly - just as Ray Lucas pointed out, "Dire Straits" for this football team and nothing short of that..........

Idzik drafted Geno. Russel Wilson is black, Geno is black = winning formula. So don't say he went defensive when he got you a QB.

Idzik drafted Geno. My point entirely ...Geno sux

How can you compare Wilson and Geno Smith?? LMAO

Pryor, a def player, was a num 1 Pick and how has that worked out? We should have gotten a better QB...oh well Now we pay the price SMH
