The Vikings made it to the playoffs because of their D and running game which is still intact ... don't be surprised if the Cowboys still win the divison.

If the Jets can go at least 3-3 in the first 6 games - we can end up in the playoffs. But that schedule is brutal. Just don't see us doing it.
My number one qualm here is just the records, the best record in the whole league is 10-6? I know there is parity but I don't think anything like that has ever happened before, has it?
The Fanbase is losing heart!!!!! I love the OPs wildly optimistic predictions Don't sell this 2016 team short, We are very capable...with some luck of dethroning Pats in AFC East I say historic year!! heres why: A decent and potentially explosive offense and A QB with chemistry with our top receivers, much improved Special Teams, A top 5 Defense WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?? Defense keeps us in every game, O can find ways to win A HC with a year under his belt, HC/DC cook up blitzes using multiple weapons, an under appreciated but sound OC using the talented backfield and receivers young and old The first 6 games will be the tell all that pushes us forward..3-3 or better!!
If @No Fly Zone is trying to minimize his prediction error, it makes sense that he isn't picking teams to have extremely good or bad records. If you look at Football Outsider's win-loss projections, they do the same thing.
I mean Teddy threw 14 touchdowns/9 interceptions last year. It's not like he was a huge factor in them making the playoffs. I get the fact that his injury might make one hesitant about picking them to repeat their playoff appearance this year, but if their defense and running game stays solid, Shaun Hill could lead them to a solid record this year. He has a 49 TD/30 INT ratio for his career, averages .4 less yards/attempt and only 2% less completion percentage. They're not in the worst shape in the league. Prescott is going to be interesting. He's sitting behind the best offensive line in football, with a top 7 receiver, and a Hall of Fame tightend. That same line blocked McFadden to arguably his best season ever. If he plays relatively turnover free he should be able to manage the game pretty well. Dallas' lack of pass rush and shitty front 4 in general is what's going to hold them back mores than the quarterback position this year IMO.
Jets start out 8-0. Fitz gets hurt. Jets finish 8-8, miss playoffs, pick 17th in next years draft. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AFCE 1. Patriots 10-6 2. Jets 9-7 (technically I think 8-8 is more likely, but I'll let myself be optimistic) 3. Bills 8-8 4. Dolphins 6-10 AFCN 1. Steelers 11-5 2. Bengals 10-6 3. Ravens 7-9 4. Browns 3-13*** AFCS (not buying any team in this division, but someone's gotta win it) 1. Jags 9-7 2. Texans 9-7 3. Colts 8-8 4. Titans 5-11 AFCW 1. Raiders 10-6 2. Chiefs 9-7 3. Broncos 7-9 4. Raiders (yes I know, Satan probably worms its way into this game somehow) NFCC - Cardinals def. Panthers SB LI - Cardinals def. Steelers (hopefully as good a game as SB 43) Fuck the AFCN and NFCE. Skins and Jags probably win them by default, but I'm not buying any great leap forward from either, at least not yet. If Dallas still manages to piece together decent records even with their QB disaster, or if the Colts are better than I expect, this whole thing goes straight to hell. But I'll believe it when I see it.
I think the jets get out to a good start at 2-0. We end up at 11-5 and win the division. With the Pats playing 2 divisional games without Brady it could be the edge we need to finally win the division. The Bills are going to be terrible despite the hype, they might win some games and probably loose a few close ones but they will be nothing. The fins will be one of the door matts of the league this year and will be picking in the top 5 of the draft. We are built to win now and yes we have a tough schedule but I truly believe this team is ready to be good. Jets 11-5 (4-2 in division) Pats 11-5 (3-3 in division) Bills 7-9 Dolphins 4-12 Playoffs AFC 1. Colts 2. Jets 3. Steelers 4. Chargers 5. Pats 6. Jets go 14-2 losing the meaningless final game of the season to rest their starters, including Petty who takes over the starting role after Fitz is placed on IR for the year by game two of the regular season and Geno proves to be an ineffective replacement by throwing 6 INTs and fumbling twice in the first half of game three. Petty finishes the regular season with 4,469 yds, 36 TDs & 11 INTs plus 4 rushing TDs. We play against Seattle in the SB. Petty gets knocked out of the game early 3rd quarter while we're trailing by 17 points. Hackenberg rallies the team to a 4 point lead late in the 4th. Seattle comes back to score a touchdown and 2 point conversion with 1:57 remaining on the clock. On 4th and 2 deep in Jets territory, Hackenberg unleashes a 60 yard bomb to Anderson carrying him out of bounds at the Seahawks' 33 yard line and 1:36 on the clock. Gailey calls two consecutive running plays to Forte totaling 4 yards. 3rd down play is a corner of the end zone touchdown pass to Decker which gets called back due to a bogus holding penalty. Next play is a perfect pass dropped by Enunwa on the 4 yard line. On 4th down, Hack throws an INT on an overthrown pass intended for Marshall. Seahawks win 35-31.
I'd be the happiest guy on earth if the Jets win the SB but I just try to be realistic, our schedule is brutal and Fitzpatrick is just Fitzpatrick. I just don't see us going to the playoffs, let alone win the division. I would love to be wrong more than anything but I try not to get my hopes up, I've been disappointed many times in the past by this team so... there's that.
Even after the injury to Romo I'm keeping Ezekiel Elliot as my Offensive Rookie of the Year. As a team I believe they'll struggle winning games with a rookie QB but Elliott should put up tremendous rookie numbers with his talents behind their offensive line. But after the injury to Teddy Bridgewater I'm also changing my Offensive Rookie of the Year 'Runner-Up' from Laquon Treadwell of Minnesota to Corey Coleman (WR out of Baylor) for Cleveland. He's been quiet throughout the preseason but this is a WR I liked a lot while with Baylor. RG3 is a question mark but Coleman should have a chance to impact not only during Josh Gordon's 4 game suspension but also working out of the slot throughout the course of the season (while Gordon draws the double teams/attention on the outside). Corey Coleman, imo, is now in position to contend for Offensive Rookie of the Year behind Elliott.
