do u think they are the same kind of player?? both players excelled in their college careers and both players have decent size and fairly good speed.. they both seem to have good hands and if given the chance, can jerricho become our reggie wayne.. which is a very solid #2 receiver?? they had reports that jerricho has deceptive speed, very good "football" speed as opposed to track speed.. i see him stepping up this year and showing us the side of him that helped him break all of tory "big game" holt's records at nc state... what do you all think??

At this point, it sure as hell seems like he could be the #2 wideout, because McCareins can't catch if it depended on his life...

God damn waste of a 2nd rounder.

I have high hopes for Jerricho. He was the single biggest disappointment last year because I fully expected him to break out. When you go through five QBs in one season though, then I guess I can't really hold it against him. Especially with Herm's unwillingness to sit hurt veterans.

This year should be big for him... he has an opportunity to show something. The WRs are going to be the strength of the offense this year, and that should give him lots of chances.

Well, hopefully we could have a good quarterback throwing to him. I'd love to see him breakout in TC and Preseason and beat out McCareins for the job.

You've gotta figure that even if in a worst case scenario Brooks is the starting QB again, he will be a "better" QB than Brooks of last year simply because of the experience that he got playing in those games.

Man, I don't understand how you think Crotchery had a bad year. When he played he did a great job. That is just the thing, Herm/dinger didn't play him very much. As far as McCariens goes. I was happy when we traded just a 2nd rounder for him. I thought there weren't any wide receivers we could have taken their that had his talent or NFL experience. However, in saying that he hasn't done a great job. I'm hoping it was because of the O-cordinater changes and the horrible luck with QB's and no time to get the ball to him. McCariens did drop alot of passes that were catchable though so who knows. Maybe he was a waste of a 2nd round pick.

The offensive coordinator switch to Dinger shouldn't have been the problem. McCareins was good in Tennessee and Dinger was the OC there. The switch should have helped him.

He just showed little effort to bring in the passes that were thrown to him the past couple years he's been here.

I don't think Jericho is the same type of receiver as Wayne, but he can definately be a solid reliable #2. Let him and J-Mack battle it out. One good thing about bringing in a new regime is that they won't be tied into keeping J-mack as the #2 just because of his contract. They'll play the best players, politics be damned.

Jerricho didn't have a bad year. He had a disappointing year, but then again the entire Jet team did.

He sure can be a #2, if he just gets the catches. The Jets will throw more this year, and Cotchery will get more catches because of that. The battle for WR #2 will be close but exciting

I think that Jerricho has a good chance of being the team's breakout player this year. With the old regime gone, I can almost guarantee that Cotchery will be given a chance to compete. He looked very good last year, and I would put money on him being our #2 receiver when the season starts.

He definetly can't play slot reciever. Cotchery can catch and make big plays, but he can't get open. Maybe as a #2 we can start our drives with 8 to 9 yd hitches to Cotchery.

What makes you say that? Last year, he showed quickness and toughness. I think he can be a very solid all-around receiver.

I believe that the Jets' new WR Coach was the OC at N.C. State when Cotchery was clipping Torry Holt's records. So, I'd say he has someone on board now who knows how to exploit his talents.

Cotch in my eyes has the best hands on the team, well maybe Curtis does, but Cotchery seems very capable of making plays, he will be a solid #3 for us this year, but I do not see him yet as the second guy.

Ya...Cotchery doesn't really have the speed of Wayne and I don't think he is quite as clutch. You rarely see Cotchery wide open....

He ran a 4.45 at his combine which is decent but not Santana or Lavaranues speed.......slow DBs are as fast as him....

Derrick Strait who we took that year is also a 4.45.....no wonder he doesnt start at corner.
