http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/story/469881p-395472c.html Man on a game where their are 2 very good running backs, this would make me happy. Our run-stuffer would be in while Kimo would be spelled out due to his bad play.
this has nothing to do with d-rob at NT. this has more to do with von oelhoffen and shaun ellis not getting their job done @ DE. rashad moore cant play DE, d-rob can. so what do you do? kick robertson to the outside, bench kimo and insert moore in @ NT. but im telling you right now rashad will get his ass kicked robertson made some pretty good plays from the DE position last week and the week before so lets see how this thing works out.
You never know with Belichick though. The Colts run defense sucks and they threw the whole game. But if I had to guess they're going to try to pound it, and having Moore in there in addition to Kimo being out is probably a good thing. By the way, whatever happened to Dave Ball? Seems like he was helping the pass rush early on and then we haven't heard from him in a few games....
The D-Line can't be any worse than it was vs. Cleveland. I don't see how the change could be a negative.
This is our best alingment at stopping the run. It worked last week in the 2nd half against cleveland.
Hopefully this also means we'll see a huge improvement in stopping the run, as was the case vs the Browns in the second half two weeks ago.
Well, they needed to do something. After not pounding it against the worst rushing defense in the league, the Pats won't make the same mistake twice and not run on this defense...
I sure want to see a lot more of Moore at NT and Robertson at RE. The signing of Von Olhoffen was a waste and hopefully during the second half of the season for the JETS, Ellis and the Defense take off.
I hope D-Rob makes the most out of this opportunity at DE. He clearly wasn't the answer at NT. If he can at least be somewhat effective playing on the outside, maybe he can salvage his career here. Otherwise, he'd continue being the monumental waste of those gazillion first round picks. I like this move by Mangini though. The Jets need Moore clogging up the interior, especially with Dillon and Maroney running around. Any adjustment made since last week's loss can only be a positive in my mind.
2 words... Thank God. I really am going to pull for Robertson at DE in the 3-4. And Moore has looked great when he's been on the field at NT.
If Robertson can't handle defensive end, then he's simply not a football player. He's 320 lbs. of man, when most tackles are used to 265-280 lbs. defensive ends. Regardless of the weight differencial I'd be Robertson is stronger then them. It doesn't worry me though, because he looked excellent whenever he plays end.
DRob is 317? Coulda fooled me, everyone kept talking about him being 270 and undersized or something. Well, let's see what he can do as a DE. I have my worries on Moore as NT, I don't know how many snaps he can play.
he is only probably gonna play 2 downs a drive anyway.. so i dont see it being issue his stamina has gotten better over the season. which is probably why mangini is now comfortable to make the change.
I guess it would help him a lot if they put him on oxygen when he is on the sidelines. I really like that fact that Mangini is changing something that was not working. That's a very good sign.
This is the best move for the team. - Kimo has been our biggest liability upfront getting absolutely pounded off the line. - Adding Moore brings a true NT to the equation - D rob can now move to DE where he has made some plays this season and is a much more comparable position to his natural 3T than is the NT. - We add ALOT more size and bulk to the equation
