I agree. If we do win, it will say a lot about the state of the Pats. It would also give us a good shot of winning the division. I hate the patriots almost as much as I hate the Dolphins, but I think Beli is gonna have them ready this week. Thats big trouble.
By definition we cannot do the impossible.. if we could, it would not be impossible. We can beat NE on Sunday (possible) but I do not think it likely unless we have our game-plan right on the money and the PATS make some errors.
didn't feel like starting a new thread, so here it is: Jets | Baker could become more involved in passing game Mon, 6 Nov 2006 20:04:07 -0800 Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets TE Chris Baker could become more involved in the team's passing game during the second half of the season. Baker has been asked to block more this season, but head coach Eric Mangini said he would like to give Baker more opportunities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jets | Barrett practices Monday Mon, 6 Nov 2006 20:00:59 -0800 Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets CB David Barrett (hip) practiced Monday, Nov. 6. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jets | Teague practices Monday Mon, 6 Nov 2006 19:57:04 -0800 Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets C Trey Teague (ankle) practiced Monday, Nov. 6.
I was going to add to my post, but you said it perfectly. This is a statement game for the Pats. Kraft and Belichick are very image-conscious and the last thing they want the fans and critics to see is them losing to the lowly Jets with their stolen coach and undeservedly snotty demeanor (see: Branch), a week after Peyton Manning faces them on national TV. Mid-season, and they aren't looking great. If they want to make noise in the post-season, this game is big for them.
I am tired of reading the players talk about how tough NE is after a loss, why can't we have that mentality against a team that has dominated us? Instead of talking about how great NE and how pissed they are after losing to Indy I want our gusy to be that pissed after losing last week and after losing 7 straight to NE. At some point enough is enough and I want to see that attitude.
They're never going to say anything like that in the paper, not if they're smart, which I think Mangini is aware of. Everyone talks up the other team publicly. I thought the Jets played them well the last time in the second half. Hopefully they use whatever adjustments they hade at halftime of that game and not get behind so far in this one. Again, if they don't stop Dillon and #39 (name escapes me), we're in trouble no matter who says what.
if im not mistaken i think we where the last team that they lost two in a row to..i think it was 2002...:jets:
Not quite correct. They didn't lose two in a row to us, but the last time they lost two in a row, the second of the two was against the Jets in 2002....
I hear that, loud and clear. The Jets are going to look like Ken Shamrock by the time this one is over.
it is possible, but i really do not think it is likley. it is impossible for the Jets to go 16-0 this season
At what point is it OK for the Jets to get mad after a tough loss? Power is not something given, it's taken. The Pats are the better team. But the Jets are capable of beating them this weekend with a bold game plan and great execution. We hope the Jets will win, but expect the Jets to lose. T he media feels the same way. I only Mangini is setting a different expectation inside that locker room. One negative by-product of pulling coaches and players from a dynastic rival is the possibility of people genuflecting too long at their feet. The sooner the Jets and the rest of decide it's OK to expect them to win, they will. We don't have to wait until 2007 and 2008 for that to happen.
