A stunner. #nyj Rich Cimini @RichCimini 3m3 minutes ago Ferguson was asked to take pay cut, but I don't think that was over-riding factor. He just felt he couldn't play up to his usual standard. Rich Cimini @RichCimini 1m1 minute ago Ferguson played 10 years, started every game and never missed a snap due to injury. Remarkable career. #nyj Rich Cimini @RichCimini 15s16 seconds ago Ferguson's retirement frees up more than $9M in cap room for the Jets. Changes the complexion of their cap situation. #nyj
Should absolutely be inducted into the ring of honor. Despite declining play of late, he gave us 10 years without missing a snap. Great leader and an overall outstanding Jet. Salute to Ferguson!
A true warrior. Thanks Brick! I remember when he was drafted they said there's your LT for the next ten years. They were right. This now changes cap and possibly draft. I think we now have to target a LT early in this draft (how's the crop this year?), unless there is still one out there in free agency?
Absolutely unexpected. He was on the decline but I didn't think he was bad enough to just call it quits. I also don't believe for one second that he's played his last down to football. I do admire that he wants to go out before really bottoming out. Thank you for a phenomenal run Brick!
Sad to see him go, he was everything we hoped he would be when we took him at 4th overall. Wonder if this has to do with concussion issues? Would be very upsetting if this was over the paycut.
