Hopefully this explains week 17 and dipping out of the Pro Bowl. Limited for the offseason but should be good to go for training camp.

I couldn't even fathom why he was repeatedly giving Sammy Watkins 10 yards of cushion when he's built a career on press coverage. Maybe this was why?

Interesting. Really could have played a factor in the Bills game. As Revis likes to jam WR's. Especially fast ones like Watkins. Hard to do with an injured wrist, thus he gave him a huge cushion.

Then why didn't Bowles put Revis on someone else and double cover Watkins?

    When was the surgery?

I hope it was the week after the Bills game.

Hope he didn't wait till now.

Good question. Better question: When the game plan completely flopped in the 1st half, why didn't the team adjust in the 2nd half?

Perhaps he felt Revis was better for Watkins than the other cornerback of the team ... Even in double coverage

Tony Romo waited til like last week to get his collarbone operated on. Players don't want to come out of a season and go right under the knife unless it's a dire situation, they want to go on vacation and enjoy some time off. Surgery recovery and rehab sucks.

I get that. I just hope he timed it such that he's back in time for training camp.

If he misses time, his decision to wait should be criticized.

Totally agree. Everything I've read thus far says he will be, but you never know. And it wouldn't be the first time an elite veteran chose to avoid 2-a-days under the guise of rehab.

(not condoning it, but it happens)

Wrist ligament surgery is somewhat risky, I think. He may have wanted to wait to see if it would heal or if he could deal with it.

I have a partially torn ligament in my wrist and the Doctor advised not to do Ligament surgery after Arthroscopic surgery, unless I couldn't cope with the symptoms

Could be the reason....not comparing myself to his situation.

Jets Pro Bowl CB Darrelle Revis underwent surgery this morning in Manhattan to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist. He's expected to be ready for training camp in late July, but he will be in a hard cast for 2-3 months and will be limited in OTAs. The injury happened around Week 3, but he kept playing. It may have contributed to a couple of subpar games.

Let's hope this is the reason for Revis poor game against Watkins. We cannot afford to loose him.

It still doesn't explain why they allowed Watkins to catch first down after first down on 8-12 yard stops. Wrist injury or not, you don't need to jam a receiver to rally up to him and try to make a play on the ball, or why Bowles didn't adjust to play Revis in a deep third with a safety or linebacker underneath those routes.

    It was disgusting to watch.

Makes sense. The wrist was the reason why he played poorly at times despite playing good most of the season. Right.
