We already drafted a potential replacement for Mo.

Not that I have a problem with this signing per say, but damn. Why aren't players at any other position interested in signing here? Is it the fact that we have so many talented Dline men hanging around they figure its a free paycheck to sit on the bench or something?

Who do you propose we get? We have limited funds. I think we did a pretty stellar job with what we have.

Definitely feel the sentiment that Mac is stacking the D line, but what can you do? He'll look to the draft to fill the LB needs, and it seems like a decent class for that. (Right, draftniks?)

And most of all, an OLB.

Got a Pitt buddy who is sad to see him go, he's a stout NT! Hopefully at a good price!

I don't know about "MOST of all"?!

We certainly need a OLB but at least we have Maulden.. At QB we have Geno and a kid with zero nfl snaps... I think MOST of all we need a QB!

Sounds like an able guy to fill in the hole left by Snacks.

Now Macs gotta draft a couple a Line Backahs

Would have been better if we signed Paul Solai or Terrance Knighton.

I'm happy we're not just ignoring DT, but I can't help but notice one thing.

The team is giving Jenkins 2 million a year, and McLendon 4 million a year right? So 6 million a year on DT, when they could have brought Snacks back for 9? That's only 3 million.

Maybe I'm being the negative Nancy here, but it is what it is.

Was it official that we signed Jenkins?

I had heard it wasn't, but it seems like it is after checking out Google.

I disagree. Both would probably have been more expensive, and Solai has already signed with Carolina.

You're talking two players vs. one, plus $3 million additional cap space.

This leads me to think that Snacks would have been brought back if he was willing to accept a deal in the 5-6 mil range.

Source said nothing done yet between Jets and NT Steve McLendon. Sounds like it could get done, but not yet. #Nyj

I would wait yet. Same happened with Jenkins and nothing since then.

Let's say that 12M/3y is true for McLendon. According to overthecap.com we have 2.3M, to spotrac.com 2.7M.
So, if it will be a backloaded deal it's OK, but somethings should happen soon.

I agree that the FO is working the limited cap space hard. My thing is that is that recently it seems like the team is always able to attract decent depth cheaply, but only on the dline. That's what the sit on the bench joke was about.

No idea who we could get though, maybe something will shakeout after the draft.
