Since we are on a bye which will seem like 3 weeks due to the Cleveland debacle I want to remember the 2002 Jets O and hope that some of the positive vibrations make it to Foxboro next Sunday. I was at the 41-0 crushing of Indy that year and that was easily the best Jet game I have ever been to (seen about a dozen). But more importantly I want that feeling back that I had when bushy haired Chad came into the game for Vinny that year and would kneel down in the huddle and demand perfection from everyone around him. Chad is a born leader and this is a gift from God, you cannot learn that. For me that attitude transpires football into real life and his character is really a model for people to live their life. Our WR group which I think was the best ever of S Moss, L Coles and W Chrebet (wish Al Toon could have been there). The three of them together would really make me smile watching them play. Throw in Curtis and I was in heaven, but Chad was the engineer and I want this team to have that commanding feeling again. I sincerely hope that he beats Brady, that will be my SuperBowl.
I'm with ya. When Chad's "on" he's nearly unstoppable, and the team responds likewise. If we lose, plan on blaming it on an atrocious defense. The Pats running game is strong, our run D is a sieve.
Everything you just said is correct. However, if the Jets lose this week don't expect many people on here to agree with you. I guarantee that if we lose this week there will be at least 3 threads calling for Clemmens. That said, Pennington is our best chance to win because of his relationship with Coles and the accuracy on his passes
2002 was a different team with much more talent on it than this team. I'll be ecstatic if the Jets pull out a win against either New England or Chicago but I'm not holding my breath.
How's this for 02 magic? Right before chad went on his winning spree, he lost, to CLEVELAND in the first game that the jets wore the green pants of the season. And we just love to cleveland again, wearing the green pants for the first time, again. Repeat history, sorta? Go Chad, rally!
Chad will lead us to the promised land, it will start in New England. J-E-T-S-Jets,Jets,Jets. Allentown Ernie.
It was a comment as a result of the second posters username. You kids get so anal about these posts...
2002 Curtis Martin (elite back, best pass-blocking RB in the league) Jason Fabini (veteran still in prime) Kevin Mawae (veteran still in prime) 2006 Leon Washington (emerging rookie, too small to pass block) D'Brickashaw Ferguson (emerging rookie, weight issues) Nick Mangold (emerging rookie) Our defense has more holes than the 02 defense did, too. I don't think we have the experience needed to pull off a 2002.
Hey ROBA, Hows that season prediction of Jets being 13-3 looking. Want to revise that prediction somewhat.
That's just too weird. It's like two crazies in a group counselling session taunting each other into deeper psychosis. Jeaux's new-found self-deprecation and sense of humor actually gives him the edge in this battle.
