In terms of what we want for the Jets as fans, I hope Sheldon gets no games suspended or at most four. In terms of the Jets and the NFL needing to try to keep players from doing stupid shit, if he has learned his lesson, then I think 4 games will be sufficient to send a signal both to Sheldon and to other players. If he hasn't learned his lesson, then for his benefit, I hope he gets suspended for at least 6 games and maybe 10. He needs to wake up and realize that as important as it is, more than just his career is at stake. He could have killed multiple people, including a child with his stupid antics. I don't think he's a "bad" person just isn't very bright, and didn't get very good character or judgment training at home or on the football field. Past behavior was probably overlooked since he was so good on the field. That does no one any good.
In all likelihood, he was trying to hide it under the seat, not actually pull it on the officers with a kid in the car putting all their lives at risk. He was dumb, but you have to have a death wish to pull something like that.
Dead on. My Dad used to always have a few beers during road trips. This was with my mom and 5 kids in the car. Today, you get numerous tickets for all kinds of things. Different times for sure...
There is no way he gets no games. The Personal Conduct Policy guarantees he's going for 2-4 games. The only guy who got 2 games was Suh and that was at the dawning of the policy for actions on the field that reflected poorly on the NFL. The only way the NFL can make the suspension system work is to be consistent with it.
No weed in the car Never pulled his legally owned and legally carried firearm on any cop Racing/running and maybe child endangerment (child was a relative whose parents refused to press charges) i can see a suspension coming for. With that said, his attitude about everything and him already talking about "Suh money" makes me think we better get what we can for him before his contract is up.
I've always felt that one could get a feel for what the HC is really thinking after a while if you follow all his pressers and pay close attention. I think I'm starting to lean with your point, and think that TB may not trust SR and may not be able to ever fully trust him, and that SR may end up being odd man out along the DL
Perhaps we can come up with a list of other things that Sheldon didn't do as a way of demonstrating what a great guy he is, so then he won't get suspended. (1) He didn't rape anyone - male, female, or animal. (2) There was no kidnapping or ransom demand. (3) He didn't beat anyone to within an inch of their life (4) Nobody got poisoned (5) No terrorist threats were made (6) Nothing was stolen Add all of those things up and I can't see how he gets suspended.
