The fact he wasn't named means players don't think he's any good and we probably shouldn't resign him.
Winston actually deserved it more than Tyrod...he started slow but by week 5 and on he was on FIRE.. Tyrod was just injured. but i agree Fitz deserved it over both.
Drew Brees was passed over as well. Good chance Brees and Fitz turned down the offer before the league dug deeper into the QB depth chart. Fitz would rather stay in the area and attend Knicks games then a week in Hawaii
Winston was really good this season, deserving of a pro-bowl. Fitz should've gotten it over him, but hey keep his ass in NY so Mac can negotiate!
I agree with Winston (but that's NFC not AFC so it's not relevant). Fitz and Winston were not in the same voting pool, so I don't get people saying Fitz should have gotten it over him. But Tyrod if you look at his numbers had arguably better numbers TD:INT ratio. Plus, he took the league by storm and was all the rave in the national media for a while. So I get it, since we know pro-bowl is a popularity contest anyway. Plus, why would we want to add a negotiating point for Fitz. This isn't a bad thing for the Jets. We know how he played, we don't need the Pro Bowl to prove it (which Fitz will probably say to the Jets anyway).
Crab. edit: the kid passed for over 4,000 yards and helped triple his team's win total from '14. The Pro Bowl's a "free trip" joke anyway so they might as well try and put some life into the game with the 'rook' as opposed to weak-armed, journeyman QBs like Fitz who carry no buzz factor. Plus, no chance of Fitz freakishly re-breaking his leg...
He did, if you turned the TV on. He's all anyone was taking about for quite a while. He was being referred to as TyGod by the national media. I'm just stating why he probably made the pro-bowl over Fitz, and again his TD:INT numbers were better. Add to it, Tyrod swept the Jets and there you have it. Had the Jets won week 17 Fitz might have gotten the pro bowl nod over Tyrod And Jameis might suck, but doesn't change the fact he is in the NFC voting pool and not the AFC>
They really should. What a joke this thing has become. You have half the league not participating, now. Scratch it as its so dumb. Does anyone even watch it? I know I haven't watched in years. Whats wrong with just honoring the people deserving of recognition, naming an all star team and that's it
there is no NFC/AFC voting block anymore. "Pro Bowl" QBs Tom Brady, New England (replaced by Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay) Cam Newton, Carolina (replaced by Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo) Carson Palmer, Arizona (replaced by Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota) Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay (replaced by Derek Carr, Oakland) Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh (replaced by Eli Manning, New York Giants) Russell Wilson, Seattle the nfl is digging deep. out of the 86 players initially named they have 33 and counting replacements. Pretty soon they'll all be getting little pansy ass rewards participation ribbons
