I thought about it some...If the Jets ever left and we were stuck with the Bills or Giants as the only metro teams...I would then become a Green Bay Packers fan. Love the history and tradition and have never had any ill will towards that team
I moved to Los Angeles in 1982. I was convinced my moving from NYC was why they did so well that year. The players strike may have played a part as well.
Got to admit. This is a weird thought the more i think of it. I can see why fans of new franchises get so much sh-t. Fans of transplanted franchises are even more so. "You didn't even exist till yesterday. You'll get no respect from us." At least Ravens fans had the carry over Colts fan base. I'm sure the Rams fans will be the same way. But almost nothing in life is permanent. Why should sports entertainment be any different? Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Wow. People always say jets fans are the most retarded in the league, but this is a new low. How does a "jets fan" not know the team already left his city? How is that even possible? To follow the team and not know that...?
Besides, it's a forward thinking hypothetical question. Like we'd ask ourselves "would you rather sleep with Jessica Alba or Jessica Biel?" Or in Buffalo you'd ask yourselves "would you rather stuff a kielbasa up your ass or a bratwurst up your ass?" _
I swear the filth and petulant cockroaches will never stop coming to TGG. By the way, why don't you start sourcing these "people who say jets fans are the most retarded"? I'm pretty sure you don't even know what retarded means...Pretty common in those who always make a case for Buffalo being relevant in the Sports landscape.
They'd rather just stuff a chicken wing up their ass, pull it out, call it a 'Buffalo Chicken Wing' before biting into it.
it's not going to happen. Teams that typically move aren't embedded franchise.. You cannot move a NY football team. First of all, it would make no sense. Why move from the biggest market to a smaller one? Financially, the numbers will never add up. Looking at the Rams, they are a team who have struggled selling tickets. Their fanbase did the talking. Oak and SD are candidates to move, but are moving within the state, so not much changes. Last big move was the Browns to Baltimore. Was a big mistake and Cleveland got its team back. The only NY based team that is a candidate to move at some point is Buffalo.
they owe $750 million for their half of the cost of Metlife. plus, NEW yORK METRO IS THE #1 MARKET IN THE COUNTRY. even the NHL has 3 teams based in it. The Jets are not going anywhere. It wwould not surprise me in the future to see jacksonville, san diego, oakland or nashville lose a team to a place like portland, san antonio, london (uk), or mexico city. Way too much money to be made on fees and tv rights.
If they kept the Jets name and team colors then yes. I understand the people saying no but fuck the guys who said they'd become Eagles, Packers, and especially fuck the guy who said he'd become a Giants fan.
I feel like if they were to leave the area it just wouldn't be the same. I still think it was a huge mistake for them not to build a stadium in Queens.
I'll be a Jets fan as long as they're the New York Jets. If they ever leave New York, and I see no reason why they would, I would become a fan of whatever the closest NFL team was...currently that would be the Chiefs.... come to think of it...MOVE JETS MOVE JETS MOVE JETS!!!!! I could be following a winning team!!!
