Love the Jets. Thank you for a great year! I was at the Ralph and watched in person. First thing I noticed was Sheldon playing the OLB. He looked tentative and out of position. Rex kept running things his way recognizing this. Wish Bowles would've went back to 4-3. I think it would have made a difference.

I don't think that's going to be a big problem next season. They did actually run some 4-3 this season, but once Coples the un-LB was cut it created a hole on the roster. I'm guessing its why we had Josh Martin hanging around all season riding the pine. Much like the O-Line, our LB core is a complete mess thanks to 6-8 seasons of inattention. Right after getting the O-line straight is the LB core.

I totally agree with this and noticed the same. He lost contain on Taylor TD run as well.

Sheldon admitted (in an article that was posted on forums not too long ago) he was uncomfortable lining up at LB.

According to the article, Richardson's athleticism made him the default player to move from the DL to LB. However, this alludes to the fact that we lack talent at LB and have too much talent at DL.

This, to me, proves that either Wilk or Harrison are gone so Sheldon can move back to DL full time. The Jets definitely will address the LB position.

Meh I think it's that Sheldon was athletic enough to make the transition and the fact that there was terrible players at the LB position. Sheldon by all means was solid at LB but he's MUCH better on the line and that's where he needs to be. There's no reason why the Jets can't stick with Williams, Wilk and Sheldon on the line next year.

Sheldon has been a beast at OLB and made a bunch of terrific plays against the Bills. Not sure what you're talking about. The Bills didn't run at him, not that it would work anyhow. They did what the Eagles did to us. They did what Rex knows works against the defense. And that's to make them play sideline to sideline with stretch running plays. You avoid the interior because you can't run the ball against us between the tackles. You always go for the sideline, that's where we struggled. We can't stop those plays because Snacks can't move, neither can Harris or Pace. And outside you have Cromartie that wuss who is too scared to tackle anybody. So, yeah, you'll have some success bouncing the runs outside. Our linebackers are slow as shit. Our corners can't play the run. That and the fact that the Bills a lot of times had 3-4 OT's out there, playing TE or FB. We got outcoached, outschemed, period. Whatever you want to call it.

Right, I'm not sure if my post was clear, but you just paraphrased the same point (except the last part).

You make some good points. But hiss Jobe in that spot is to play outside in. And he lost containment many times. But wasn't really his fault. He was playing out of position. He looked uncomfortable .

He's essentially playing DE standing up. So he doesn't have any space to work with, he's usually head to head with the tackle. When the Bills bounced it outside he usually had to fight off 2-3 guys. The tackle, maybe a pulling guard, a TE or the FB. His job is to set the edge and allow Harris and DD to go sideline to sideline and make plays. Instead of that they tried to shoot the gaps. They didn't go sideline to sideline, they went straight forward. They lost containment. You can't expect a 300 pound lineman to contain. If he did they'd just cut back inside instead. He doesn't have the speed to do that. Blame both inside linebackers. Harris sucked, he looked tired and showed zero effort at times. Davis was even worse, but at least he tried. He can't help how stupid he is. He's supposed to be that sideline to sideline guy and whenever we need him he disappears. He didn't do shit against the Bills, the entire game. When we needed him to make a stop, when we were still in the game he was nowhere to be found, he couldn't make one play or tackle. Then like late in the 4th quarter when it was all over he made ONE play and suddenly he's dancing around celebrating himself. What a twat.

what the hell are you even ranting about now? Demario Davis hardly even played in the Buffalo game. He was in for only 16 of 75 snaps and that includes 3 on Buffalo's final drive where they were just trying to run out the clock. It's kind of hard to "do shit the entire game" when he's buried on the bench.

Henderson was in for Davis most of the game. It wasn't Harris' best game but it wasn't his worst. Idk how one defines him "giving zero effort" but I didnt see that.

Also, in the same paragraph you make 2 very contradictory statements. "His job is to set the edge and allow Harris and DD to go sideline to sideline" ... followed by "You can't expect a 300 pound lineman to contain. If he did they'd just cut back inside instead. He doesn't have the speed to do that. Blame both inside linebackers"

do you know what the definition of 'contain' is?

Sheldon played well though on Sunday. He had one of his better game of the year, recorded 6 QB hurries, 1 QB hit, 6 tackles, and 4 defensive stops

this. i absolutely hateee when he talks about other peoples contracts... When he said over the summer " Me and Mo don't want watt money we want all the money we want suh money" I laughed at first because it was funny but then i thought.. this guy is dead ass serious. If i were Mo i'd be pissed at that.. The guy who basically is going to take your spot or your going to be the reason he goes... is speaking up about what YOU want in terms of money. How unprofessional is that? You learn since your first job never speak on another persons money at work... Sheldon ALWAYS does it. I know it's out there for everyone to see.. and that's why he needs to worry about his damn self.. acting like he not one bong rip from being the next Josh Gordon.

The Mevi$ attitude has spread around the league. Just watch Antonio Brown this off-season. He's a guaranteed holdout in camp next year if the Steelers don't upgrade him to among the highest paid WR's in the game, if not the highest paid.

The concussion stuff has turned all the players into mercs, which makes total sense when you realize they are laying their lives on the line on every play.

If u guys grew up poor for most of your life and played professional football and suddenly started getting paid for it youd want more money too. What are players supposed to just sit there and be happy with whatever the hell they get. You wouldnt do it in your real lives so why would these players, what just cause it suits the team that you root fors pockets. I dont think most fans get that football is an extremely dangerous sport where u sacrifice body and mind and for sheer entertainment. Under perform one year and teams are looking for a way to get rid of you , but if u dare ask for money like Revis did and youre the bad guy. Fuck that im all for what Revis did and wont be mad if Sheldon or Mo do the same thing. Both are outperforming their contracts and deserve to be paid for because if they werent we would be begging for them to leave.
