They want Wilkerson, in return we get their LT Osemele. Both guys are around 25, both guys are proven, both guys will probably make a lot of Pro Bowls in the next 5-10 years. Doesn't look like either team will be able to lock up their guy. Sounds interesting, doubt it happens but if we have to let Mo walk or can't get something done this would make the most sense. Definitely beats just letting him walk out the door free to join anybody he wants without getting any compensation.

    http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/topic/66845-ko-as-trade-bait-for-dl-wilkerson-from-the-jets/

"First and foremost, I LOVE K.O. as a player. I think he's a Pro Bowl Guard and has Pro Bowl LT skills/talent/upside. That said, we're pretty much stuck with Eugene Monroe for next year I think because of his contract. Even though he's been injury prone he's still pretty young for a LT and has a bunch of good years left in him if he can manage to stay healthy (big if, I know). But. We need a DL. Pretty bad. Brandon Williams is a terrific run stuffer but we need a force on the edge to help out our pass rush as well, to take some pressure off Elvis, and we don't know what Suggs is going to be next year, or even Elvis. Whether they can still play at a 10+ sacks per year type level.

On to Wilkerson. He's a way better version of prime-Trevor Pryce and he's only 25, hasn't even hit HIS prime yet. He fits the scheme perfectly, he can play any position up front in the 3-4 or 4-3 on a Pro Bowl level, so you know what you're getting with him.The Jets are stacked up front, so much that they had to move their other All Pro DE (Richardson) to OLB. So that would definitely make sense for them. They can't pay Wilkerson, Sheldon, Leonard Williams, they have let one walk soon. Now let's look at their LT position, the current starter (Ferguson) is aging and probably gets cut coming off season, and they have absolutely no depth and nobody to take over for him.

The other option would be to draft a DL in round 1, re-sign K.O. cut Monroe. And then the Jets probably get Monroe for nothing. Not sure if they can afford to re-sign Wilkerson. In the end I think it would make sense for both teams. Both teams could fill a huge gap on offense/defense with one of the best young talents at their position.

LT K.O. + future pick for DL Wilkerson. What say you?"

We need more then Osemele. He just started playing LT in December. He is a guard most of the time and we have one in Carpenter.

Mo is one of the best defensive players in the league.

Oh and its also the Ravens...Screw the Ravens!

I wouldn't give up Mo straight up either. They'd have to add another pick or a LB, they have a couple young guys there that can play. But I wouldn't let that get in the way of making that trade happen if that's our only option.

If you're gonna trade Mo, you don't do it in your own conference. NFC team perhaps..

Call Kobe, someone is getting RAPED!!!!!!

But I would entertain CJ Mosley + Osemele + late round pick for Wilkerson + late round pick [MAYBE]. But trading a prime time player to the Ravens is just bad business.

Wilk for the lineman and a second rounder might be interesting.

Trades for players on both teams are extremely rare and not happening most likely

Plus both players would have to be franchised I believe which I can't remember ever happening.

Last time I remember a big trade was Champ Bailey for Clinton Portis ... but I agree ...

Going to miss Wilk though, ain't looking too good ... another one of my favorite players in Jet history gone :(

Interesting idea... Would need something more than just Osemele.

But I want Mo back. I'm wondering what impact his injury will have on negotiations too. Could he be resigned cheaper?

    Rather keep Wilk

Coming off an injury now, hometown discount

By far our most effective weapon in pass rush

Mike Devito is a free agent unless he resigns with the Chiefs.

Anyone want him back if we lose to trade Mo?

Trade away the team's best player, what a fantastic idea.
