In the second gif where Sheldon does the stunt you can see the center forced to tackle him to the ground in order to keep Brady from being sacked. I deleted the first and third gif from your post so that I don't make the webpage take even longer to download.
I loved seeing Brady taking a pounding, and bailing away from throws rather than stepping into them in the gifs!!!! Thanks for posting them. I could watch them forever. If NE doesn't do something about their OL, the Jets may knock another NE QB out of the lineup.
Lol the slo-mo replay going to the commercial was literally ZOOMED IN on mauldins whole head being shoved backwards and held there by his facemask lmfao.
Love seeing our rooks go to work like that. Not the first time i've seen us run this play for Leo where our DE (sheldon here) basically blocks 2 lineman for him hit the lane... we execute that very well Williams is so quick on that .
I just fucking love how our defense is FINALLY being the DOMINANT defense I thought they would be all summer long. Like we have ALL THE PIECES! Especially now that Mauldin is looking like an above average pass rusher already and Pryor is the stud he's been since college (i had sooo much faith in the Louisville guys this year they are the SHIT!! i knew ittt).. Yeah we had our ups and downs this year but were clicking at the most perfect time! It aint bout how you start its about how you finish.. these playoffs QB's all suck in the AFC besides Brady... nows our chance for something special ( IFF IFFF IFFF we get in) .. I think we're in for it. This team looks POISED FOR SUCCESS... NOW!
Let's check out Breno now. Does a great moonwalk on the first one, gets pushed back 5+ yards right into Fitz, the defender actually knocks both guys down to force an incompletion. In the second it's a little more complicated as his guy dropped back and he was asked to make a decision on the fly. The screen goes to the right so as a lineman you want to make sure the DL get into the backfield, but AWAY from where the screen goes. If you look at Carpenter he does a great job with that chopping motion (right arm) to make sure his guy doesn't beat him to the inside.
Hate the fact that Brady is sooo good getting the ball out at the last millisecond to not take the sack.. guess it's kinda easy when your constantly calling plays where basically everybody is a check down...
Let's keep going. Breno does another beautiful moonwalk. Kellen Davis doesn't look too good either, beat to the inside. Here's headbutt-fumble. Poor Fitz gets sandwiched by 4 guys, crushed by 2 Pats defenders. Breno gets embarrassed yet again, and while Brick had a good game this was one of the few plays where Chandler got the best of him. Winters with a typical Winters play, trying to catch the ball with his facemask. Thank God this didn't cost us the game. Good blitz pickup by Powell.
Breno is bad, I feel like these gifs are becoming a weekly occurrence. We need to find a tackle in this year's draft that can provide Breno with competition and potentially up-seat him. Realistically you want this tackle to be able to play RT in the early stages of his career then move to LT in a few seasons. I wouldn't mind Breno being the 6th lineman off the bench in certain packages ala Rob Turner, cutting him would be a waste of cap space.
I wouldn't label him "bad". Considering how well this offensive line has done all year, it's hard to call any of them "bad". I think he's a weak link and we need to upgrade. The entire unit is well exceeding expectations this year. There was big concern coming out of last season. They have done extremely well the entire year, but yes, there are parts that definitely need upgrading
Winters has been up and down, but I gotta give Winters credit because he showed up in some games and played really well. No real positives from Breno, also you need to consider how fast Fitz gets rid of the ball and his ability to read defenses prior to the snap. Breno blows.
I agree but you can't put all of the success on Fitz lol Yes, Fitzpatrick gets rid of the ball very quick, but the offensive line is still the offensive line. They block, they allow screens to happen, they allow the run game to get going, etc. It all revolves around them, and as a unit, they have played extremely well
Well it is nice to have Marshall and Decker on the outside too. The # of sacks they allowed are low, but they gave up a lot of pressures this season which can change the game just as much.
It's good to see Fitz overthrowing receivers, rather than under throwing the way he was earlier in the year. Sooner or later they will connect...hopefully in the SB.
I like Breno's aggressiveness but it doesn't really translate on the field. He's got a mean streak of sorts, but he doesn't play that way. Whenever the play is over he starts to get aggressive, talking trash to guys, grabbing them by the collar. I wouldn't mind moving Winters to RT and then find a decent Guard or even give one of the younger guys a shot at it (Jarvis Harrison?) next year, or draft one in round 3-4. That way we can move on from Breno, he's just not stout enough for a RT, he's not a good run blocker, he can't maul, and he struggles in pass protection. I want a big mauler at RT who can at least run block. More Breno stuff coming up.
I think that's a great point. He's just missing, short, then long, one of these days he'll hit that bomb to an open Thompkins for a walk in TD. _
The right side continues to struggle here. Breno is on skates again and Winters can't adjust to the stunt play. Instead of picking up #90 he follows #97 which creates a big hole for #90 to run through for an easy pressure on Fitz. Again, incomplete. Another stunt play, this time they do a decent job picking the rushers up. Look at Mangold setting the tone, once he's got his guy the rest of the linemen know who to block and who they're assigned to. That leaves Breno 1 on 1 with #93 (Sheard), and again he gets beat. Should have been flagged there for holding, doesn't get more obvious. Another incompletion for Fitz.
