Had a monster game yesterday but haven't heard much about the consistently solid Bilal Powell. The man played exactly as we've been hoping Ridley would all year- adding a new dimension to our offense by carving out a crucial gains through screens and dump passes, including a important TD to tie the game in the second. Discuss and appreciate
I share in your appreciation. Bilal adds a completely different dimension to our offense, which has really taken off since he came back.
Showed a good burst that didn't seem to be there earlier in the season. Was definitely a weapon yesterday.
I openly questioned why last season he was such a forgotten piece. I get that Ivory and CJ were here, but I always thought the best role for BP was how he was used yesterday. Make him a Woodhead, Sproles or Leon Washington type player and he could be vital, especially because the TE is a non-existant offensive piece in the Gailey puzzle...
He has earned himself an increased role going forward. The check down option is a very important part of a QBs success. At the very least I hope he takes w/e snaps that Ridley was going to waste.
Monster game for BP... We have to exceed his workload from here on out, his ability in the passing game is crucial for us. He's finally healthy and seems to be up for the task. Let's not forget about him and keep feeding him the rock.
Hoping he stays healthy now. He's a big weapon in the passing game and he adds a different dimension to our offense when he runs the ball. He's quicker and more patient than Ivory.
Glad he's doing well. I thought our RB's would be a team strength this year. But for the most part, they've dissapointed.
Correction, best pass catching RB, Ivory is better as a runner out of the back field, but using Powell on screens/check downs for passing plays is something I have been wondering why we haven't been doing all along.
He was huge in blitz sitiuations, the Giants blitzed and left him open and we made some big plays because of it
I've always liked Powell. He's just been underutilized his whole career. Sucks he was out for what seemed like most the season till last weeks Dolphins game. He adds that third passing option this offense needs. Where the hell was Smith yesterday? Was in for around 40 offensive snaps and had 0 catches/targets.
I dont know i mean as a backup he is perfectly ok. great game yestarday... but i mean, 3.5 yards per carry, less then 200 yards rushing on the season, 1 TD/1Fumble, another 30 catches for 250 or so yards. outside of yestardays game, he has been pretty much invisible all season, and hasnt really contributed much. and in games where ivory sat out with injury or was slowed with injury our running has been putrid. not trying to knock powell, but i mean, is he even among the better backups/change of pace guys around?
Guy will be increasingly important going forward since teams know Ivory is in to run the ball and they stack the box with Powell it could be a run, screen or pass catch outa the backfield
