My old boss once came up to me and said, "You know why I never criticize you, Because your harder on yourself than I could ever be." That applies to Jets fans.
I put us down for a loss against the Giants because I think Bowles will be out coached just like he's been in basically every loss this year And I never said the Jets have no chance to win. If they do I'd be pleasantly surprised. And no wife for me but thanks for the kind words cause I don't have Bowles' jizz between my teeth like most of you guys do.
Honestly yes I was expecting 7-4 right now because I thought we would finish the year 10-6. I guess that's unrealistic too?
Too high after a win..too low after a loss. Thats the motto of 95 percent of this fanbase. No wonder nothing changes
Then don't post in it. Go make a "this team sucks" thread and cry yourself to sleep. Make sure you invite the remaining Rexaholics and Genobots so you all can bitch and moan until the season is over together. This thread is for people who have better things to do.
Don't get pissed when people post different opinions to your shitty topics. Isn't that was a message board is for? Debating? I never said the team sucks, feel free to quote wherever I may have said or implied it. And what the fuck does Rex and Geno have to do with anything?
Let's not start turning on each other. I have been a fan of this "team" for decades. Time and time again I thought finally this year as the "team" told me "Hey, Hasty I will hold the football while you run up to kick it" only to pull the ball away at the last minute leaving me to watch other teams (often the same teams) run deep into the playoffs or win a championship while my seemingly world beating "team" managed to miss the playoffs or to exit in the first round. I like the progress from last year and believe that the new front office is moving us in the right direction. With that being said, my natural reaction to seeing my 4-1 team take consecutive losses to the Patriots, Raiders, Bills, and Texans with only a win against the lowly Jaguars in that span does not make me any less of a fan. My shock and horror at the previous regime of this "team" anointing Geno Smith as the starter does not make me any less of a fan. Tuning out and going with the flow or conforming with what others think does not make you a fan of your favorite sports team. Your passion for the game and your ability to feel it when your team succeeds or fails is a big part of being a sports fan. To truly believe in your team and stick with them after they disappoint you again and again shows a level of loyalty and commitment that identifies you as a true fan of that team. Healthy debates among fans with different views makes this board an enjoyable place to argue and commiserate with fellow fans that love the Jets like I do. Throwing rocks at other fans just because they don't drink the kool aid and want to give the front office a participation trophy is pretty lame. While a four game positive shift is a good thing our record last year set that bar pretty low. Given the off-season acquisitions and the 4-1 start it was easy for some of us to get ahead of ourselves and think that this was the year we go 10-1 instead of the damned Patriots. I think we could sneak into the playoffs this year but believe that we can and should kick the door down and win the division next year if out FO makes good decisions.
FIRE IDZIK And yeah way more mature than "I feel sorry for your boyfriend"..but that poster shares the same opinion as you so dont say anything negative about him. The IQ of this board has really dropped. By all means please put me back on ignore. Makes me wonder why you would even respond to one of my posts in the first place. I dont respond to the posters that I think are idiots on here.
This is easily an 11-5 or 12-4 team with the talent and schedule they have. Poor coaching is holding this team back horribly. Its ridiculous being happy with mediocrity when this team should be anything but. Great that were in the playoff hunt but we should have a wild card spot nearly locked up at this point, not fighting for one at the beginning of December. The thing with this new front office is they really haven't done anything to show they're at all competent. I like Maccagnan but he inherited a team with a shitload of cap space and a lot of quality free agents he could throw money at. He made probably the easiest pick of the draft when he took Williams. The others haven't shown much of anything. Maccagnan helped choose the current head coach so he has a hand in this team underachieving. The honeymoon period is over and Macc and Bowles need to be held accountable for the lack of success they're having at the moment.
Maybe you are overrating the talent on the team - QB is above average at best - Best RBhas shown flashes but he has been injury prone throughout his career. The other backs behind him are nothing to get excited about - Two pretty good receivers, but nothing else behind them really. A lot of young guys (except for Kerley) - Absolutely nothing at TE - Pretty decent OLine, but nothing dominant - DLine is dominant against the run, but not great at consistently getting a pass rush. They are pretty good as a unit, but they're not an elite line like some would want to believe -LBs good against the run, not that good in coverage. Constantly get burned by RBs(I'm looking at you Demario). Mauldin seems to be rising as a pass rusher -DBs are a pretty good group
