When the fuck did I say cut him? I just think it is surprising that someone with Mangold's tough-guy reputation sat out with Boo-Boo's.
my bad, just assumed your itchy trigger finger was about to twitch again. i feel it was a safe assumption
not really. saw him wrapped up on the sideline, didn't look like he could snap a ball.actually pretty relieved its not as bad as it looked
This team is what it looked like on paper, mediocre. The 4-1 start really got everyone's hopes up, but they just aren't that sound. Bowles is a rookie HC and he is displaying just that. Like Bowles said about the rookies having to step up and not play like rookies, he needs to stop coaching like a rookie. Those calling out Fitz need to watch the tape and see what he was dealing with. The guy barely had time to throw the ball, and had clear drops by "professionals" with the ball right in their hands. Fitz isn't a star, but if you think Geno and his Fred Astaire moves would have done better, you're fooling yourself. If they play Petty now, it's a desperation move and he will get slaughtered out there. Biggest problem on the offense right now is the offensive line, the anchors of that line are becoming old and broken; the new additions are also playing like dogshit. Instead of worrying about the QB, worry about upgrading the OL next year. You put a great QB back there with guys in his face/at his feet, and he's going to shit the bed just like Fitz. The RB position needs to be addressed next season as well, they really lack a guy that is consistent. Ivory is a decent back but he just isn't a featured back, and Ridley just doesn't get up the field effectively.
I'm so dissapointed in Bowles right now I don't even wanna hear his fucking name again.......until atleast Friday
they can make all the changes they want at any position but the well at most spots is pretty dry.....the less than stellar drafts of the last few years has not replenished the cupboard.
They have no urgency, they're sloppy, and they keep making the same mistakes over and over. That's on Bowles. Yeah, Bowles doesn't throw interceptions or miss tackles, but when neither the offense or defense wakes up until the 2nd half, and sometimes doesn't wake up at all, that IS on Bowles. The team doesn't come prepared, doesn't seem to be ready to handle opposing offenses, doesn't exploit opposing defenses, and all in all comes into each game as if they just took the week off. Even Johnny Football was carving up the Jet defense for half the game in Week 1. Right now, I can't tell if this team needs a kick in the ass or a pat on the back. I have no hope for this team; I really don't see them winning another game this season. Bowles will get another season, but with the way the team has been, I'm predicting no more than 1 to 3 wins next year unless by some miracle Bryce Petty ends up being our Tom Brady draft steal. But I highly doubt that. They'll then fire Bowles and hire another defensive coordinator who insists on a big, fat, slow defensive line and a run-in-all-circumstances-including-4th-and-long offensive gameplan. Rinse and repeat. Why the fuck am I a fan of this team? Maybe when the Rams move back to LA, the Jets should change their name and move to St. Louis so that we'll have to become fans of another team that isn't a worthless sack of dog shit.
Disappointing Jets: Fitz. I've been a big proponent of Fitz, and he is better than Geno 11 times out of 10. But the Jets cant go into 2016 with him as the starter. Yes, he had some good throws and bad drops by the WR's, and he is a warrior. But he keeps making the same stupid mistakes. He obviously was shaken up after the TD run, likely concussed and then he throws two picks. He should be on the roster, but if Geno or Fitz are penciled in QB1 this team isn't going anywhere in 2016. Brandon Marshall. Too many drops. Not open enough. Not getting it done. Chris Ivory. Not a stud running back. A mirage. Mo Wilkerson. A nice player, but I hope his agents were watching the game and seeing what a true talent JJ Watt is. Wilkerson's contract should only rate half to 2/3rds of Watt's contract. Devin Smith. How many game deciding mistakes are the Jets going to give this guy? He is clearly not ready for the NFL and likely wont ever be. Kenbrell Thompkins played better in the last few games. Did they even dress him? Demario Davis. Just sucks. Let that RB just slip behind him for the TD. Even partially covering the guy and Cecil Shorts wouldnt have attempted that throw. He needs to be benched. Chan Gailey. Think you need to have a TE or RB chip block JJ Watt? Maybe throw to the WR's when the Texans lost their DB's? Revis is out 2 plays and the Texans attack and score a TD. Is that so f'ing hard? Todd Bowles. You were given an elite defense. But they cant get off the field and let scrub players like TJ Yates look elite. For the first time, I am thinking the Jets should consider a change. Good Jets: Calvin Pryor. Has become a force. Lorenzo Mauldin. Give the rook more playing time. Eric Decker. Right now he is the WR1 and the go to. Its not even close. Leo Williams. Kid is getting better. Hope he finishes strong.
Mo Wilkerson wants J.J. Watt money? How about taking a look at why he gets paid that much. Where was Mo all day? Not even in the same league. Fact: the Jets overall had more talent on the field today than the Texans. But Houston was coached much better. I am disappointed because I thought Bowles was better than he is. The NFL is littered with assistants who can't be head coaches. Like someone else said. Another year, and rinse and repeat?
The team had plenty of time to prepare. It falls on the coaches to create better game plans and getting the players ready. The fish game will spell the end of many of the players and some of the coaches if we shit the pot once more.
Geno isn't better. Fitz gives us the best chance to win games. Had an error late in the game but throughout the season he hasn't been geno Smith stupid.
