We have a lot of injuries too. And it's affecting us a lot. We basically have no TE and our secondary is banged up. The worst injuries are to our oline. Colon and mangold being out makes a huge difference. Even mangold not being 100% hurts us immensely. We need to get healthy. But most importantly we aren't gonna be a real contender until we get a good qb. Straight up. We might be a playoff team maybe. But even if we do make the playoffs we aren't gonna make it very far with average to slightly below average qb play like we have right now that's for sure
The smart expectation before the season started was to expect 6-8 wins with a team that had 4 wins and bought a bunch of skill position players on both sides of the ball but only had average to below average players at the QB position. Not a single thing has changed since then.
That being said, when you start 4-1 it's fair and reasonable assume the team will exceed those 6-8 win expectations.
Yes, so maybe you and I watch to find out what happens the rest of the season while the OP can wallow in his sorrow like a baby because his team isn't 9-0.
I'm guessing OP thought this team was going to magically turn into a Superbowl contender after a 4-12 season just because they signed a couple a free agents. Tough luck bro lol
That's only if you completely ignore the strength of the teams you've played and the ones you haven't.
OP you are most certainly a glass half empty sorta fan. We were 4-1 before the injury bug hit us super hard. Ivory, Powell, Marshall, Decker, Owusu, Mangold, Colon, Fitz, and Skrine, Pryor, Mauldin, Cro. What are we on, our back up to the back up to the back up safety most recently. We have 10 days to get healthy. A bit of a late start to the 2nd half of the season, true. If we remain healthy there is no reason we can't put together another 4-1 run and remain in the thick of the post season hunt.
They're a very mediocre team with a long way to go until we can even begin discussing playoffs or a playoff run, they're probably not even mediocre, I would put them at a bad team with a very easy schedule who sill still finish sub .500 with 7 wins.
I honestly thought this team was going to be SB contender prior the beginning of the season. How could you not? Completely revamped secondary, playmakers on offense. I'm honestly shocked that this is where we are at right now.
Actually the Jags are improving. They won yesterday. I think their passing game is coming together. It will be an interesting game with them against the Tits on Thursday, the Tits again a coming opponent so I was going to be interested in it anyway.
It's easy to get bummed about the last few games. Any rational fan can see we're in a lot better shape than the last few years. As much as we'd like it to be so, Ryan Fitzpatrick is not Kurt Warner and we ain't the '99 Rams...
How many years have I been saying what U just posted. MHO so long as clueless Woody owns the team we are on a never ending merry go round of not win the SB. There is a theory that clueless boss like Woody hire more clueless hirelings it is called the "Peters Principle" Please look it up on your browser
Ok, so who was the hire that was going to make this a super bowl season, what player did we not get that was going to make this a superbowl season. Exactly what would you have done that wasn't done this year that would make this season different?
