We are not trading for somebody's used up, worn out piece of shit who is still owed 20M+..get over it. We don't have 20cents much less 20M to waste on garbage.
This whole QB stuff is extremely dicey right now...but I doubt Mac does anything stupid thank god lets hope Fitz can play without fumbling (best opt) Geno playing (a second opt but bad, "no brainer") we get a competent ? back up (not Kapernick, another head case)
they are cutting Kaepernick in the off-season. He has barely any guaranteed money going forward. I take that chance I him if you could get him for a mid-late round pick and Coples. We knew we needed a franchise qb. This guy has shown shades (cant compare his shades to GENO please dont) Nothing to lose. Rather see him than Geno out there
Whether we go get Kaep, RGIII, do nothing or whatever...the simple answer to the bolded question is two words...HELL YES! If what is going on in San Fran were going on here...there would not only be billboards but commercials SURROUNDING the 6 o'clock news. Mark my words. Jed York is the anti-christ out here and if they could...they WOULD hang'em high!
His contract is only guaranteed against injury ($16M/2016). Which is why Washington won't play him. If he's traded, he's free to re-negotiate his deal.
would i take a flyer on Kaepernik? sure would. would i trade our best defensive lineman who is still on his rookie contract for him? HELLLLL NO. id give like a conditional 4th or 6th for him or something. throw in kerley and or geno. but no way on sheldon. kaepernik just got benched. why give up an elite asset for him? i MIGHT do wilkerson if they included a pick
To be blunt I'd take either Kaep or RGIII over the dumpster heap we've had/have over the last bunch of years. Either of them would be a vast upgrade over Geno. I know you all watch the games on TV and see "some" stuff about Kaepernick but I cannot implore nor impart upon you more how much this guy has been hung out to dry. For those that live out here and are immersed such as I am know this. Let's re-"Kaep" shall we... This guy was a top 10 QB for 2 1/2 years...leading a reasonably talented team to two straight NFC Champ games, a Super Bowl and half another NFC Champ game. Guys like that don't just forget to play football over night and it's too much a body of work to just call a fluke. Jed York HATES...and I mean HATES Jim Harbaugh. That is the ONLY reason you get rid of a coach that took the exact same team that couldn't tie two shoelaces together, the year before, to three straight NFC championship games. Colin Kaepernick is Jim's guy...not Yorks...by extension, this owner is STUPID enough to sacrifice his team to get rid of the guy. Oh it's true...it's true. (Tom Landry was the ultimate prick and was hated by just about everyone yet resided in Dallas for years because he won...the 49'er organization wasn't so bright) He is 27...he is just BARELY getting INTO his prime... Now, I'm not saying send Sheldon Richardson...even though, they better KNOW he isn't going to shit the bed again and get a year suspension. But I am saying...why not send Quinton? Package him with Geno if you have to...or something... Personally, I don't think RGIII's wheels are going to last much longer. Shannahon did a good job of destroying that talent. Just an opinion. But, this is as legitimate a shot as the Jets are going to have in the next 3-4 years of landing a top 10 talent at the QB position. Period. You MUST factor in the whole equation when talking Kaepernick. San Francisco really IS the dumpster fire it appears and, to be quite honest, even WORSE than it looks. You may have guessed it but I will tell you for a FACT, upon certain knowledge within my personal possession, Patrick Willis didn't retire because he was done with football...he SAW this coming, lived through it BEFORE the Harbaugh years and wasn't about to LIVE through it again. It's worse out here than ANYTHING I EVER saw the Jets have to mess with...and that is INCLUDING the Kotite debacle.
So because he hasn't looked great you trade him and another player for a terrible QB that got benched for Blaine Gabbert instead of something like the reported asking price for Mo which was 2 1st rounders. Go away troll.
You know, I forgot about Glennon as a cheap alternative...he got a pretty nasty ass raw deal from the Buccaneers. I thought he looked considerably better than McCown but then again, that's just me.
