I honestly think this fan base is the craziest in sports. I have never seen a more bipolar group in sports as it seems people constantly flip-flop from contenders to absolute garbage in minutes. It doesn't make sense as most of the opinions stated on this board do not represent what outsiders perceive about us. Sure we are 4-3, but we are not a bad team by any stretch I'm always sortof scared to come here after a loss because it seems I can always expect overreaction that isn't warranted. The fact that people are already calling Bowles an awful head coach, Gailey a bad offensive coordinator, and that our defense is garbage is absurd. The jets played like garbage this week, but we still have one of the best 3 defenses in football. This was our first bad defensively all year and that doesn't take away all the greatness we have had in the past. I've already seen posts questioning whether devin smith is a bust, if revis is still good, why we should cut cromartie, and that our front 4 isn't good. None of these posts make sense. It's even embarrassing to bring these up Also, I'm sick of older individuals defending being irrational by saying "if you've been waiting for 50+ years, you wouldn't have any patience for this shit." That doesn't make any sense, what has happened in the past has 0 impact on what is currently happening. Greatness isn't built instantly, it is built over time. So you're going to have to continue to wait and roll with the punches. Now look, I'm not saying all Jets fans overreact. There are some great posters here that really give some good insight and knowledge to the discussion while keeping a level head, but it's just depressing seeing people posting threads saying "i'm done" or "this team is garbage" after every loss. We are about to play the Jaguars (!) at home, who are one of the worst teams in football. We should, and will, win that game and it will put us right back into playoff contention when all fans will change their opinion of this team, just like they do every week. go jets
Lol if you want crazy fans, we're nothing compared to Philadelphia. How the NY fans get the bad rap, yet Philly doesn't seem to get much attention is beyond me.
I'm done... unless we win next week, then I'm back - lol Been a Jet's fan since 1966, yes thats right.. wouldn't trade it for the world. If you are a fan, you can bitch, swear, kick, and whatever....but you are right back in the seat next week.
You should have went to the Pats forum after Chiefs blowout loss last year. They seriously wanted Garrapolo to be QB. I remember cuz I was in a hotel basking in glory. Translation- no big deal here bro
That's because they know we are just civilized enough as NY fans to not show up to your home and try to knock you off for criticizing the team.
Cut cut cut, just began cutting myself today at age 34 due to this team. It's liberating and really does help take away the pain this team causes. Side note who is 91? Is Pouha back on the team? Richardson looks that slow and sloppy, he's a total bust... Vilma 2.0! If we resign that queer Mo I will be devastated, he is nothing more than a situational pass rusher. Snacks shut your big ass mouth and start playing football you are awful too. Williams you suck, fat Richardson came back so you took that as you can stop trying and eat cheeseburgers all day? Fat queer, get a hair cut too. In Rex we trust find a way to get him back woody, you 4 eyed prick. Bowles looks like a starving African from those commercials with children in Africa.
I see some positives in our GM and a handful of players and rookies As a fan you can be a critic. I feel completely let down by a CS that I thought was decent in some ways But inmany ways this CS is not Its not having mood swings its just facing reality
Word. Maybe if Dialectical Behavior Therapy can help Brandon Marshall, it can help the Jets fanbase too. The gist of it comes courtesy of Wikipedia.
Reality? We are ABOVE .500 after seven games with a team that just went 4-12 last year. Whatever reality you live in, I don't ever want any part of it. The CS is new, they can be afforded a game or two to figure things out. They have been impressive overall up until this game. IMO These are the type of things that make you better in life, sometimes the hardships and adversity is what NEEDS to happen in order to evolve into something much greater. That's the reality I live in, I am happy there.
It's pretty amazing to see some fans acting like we are going to steam roll AFC and get to SB when we won just 4 games last year. Then when one play or one game goes bad. Some vent like we re one of the worst teams in NFL. It has been a bad two weeks I get it but Sheesh, we still got ways to go to get better. Let's just focus and play one game at a time and hope we come out victorious regarding who is at QB, which defense shows up etc. All teams have several bad games in a season. Hopefully we get better and chalk up some wins.
A two game (and counting) losing streak should take some air out of our tires as fans. Going into the bye week I am pretty sure most of us thought the Raiders were an easy win for this team. Perhaps they are not as good as we thought. Ivory at less than 100% and the loss of our starting QB left this team's weaknesses exposed.
I said I felt let down because we WERE doing well. I am concerned after this last game however over some poor performances and poor Coaching. We can still win games but how ? With Geno Smith ? We need Fitz back ASAP If we show some improvement I am good No i am not quitting on 8-8 but its shaky my friend
I like your post, and agree wholeheartedly with your points on the swings this board goes through....but I could really see us losing to the Jags next week. They have a QB and legit receiving options. And they just beat a decent team overseas. This game isn't a given, especially if we have the special-ed team QB starting
We lost our starting QB, our starting center who has played in 147 of our last 151 games and we were already without our starting strong safety who is one of the best players on the defense. What happened yesterday was completely predictable. It could have been better but realistically this team is at best a .500 team without those 3 players and we just went into a stadium that has been a hard place to win when the Raiders were any good, which it appears they are this year.
great post OP - needed that...calling for the head coach and OC's jobs after 1 bad loss is nuts...GB got whopped by denver last night u think anyone wants to get rid of mccarthy? no. people forget how many players we didn't have
Could be worse. We could be the Giants giving up 7 TDs, or Arron Rogers getting beat by Methuselah last night. Heck, we could be the NY Mets right now. Could be a lot worse!
