My Dad's a Giant fan so, if they ain't playin' the Jets, I root for 'em. He does the same with the Jets. I'm not a classic Raider haider either. Don't like 'em, but don't hate 'em either.
Those people annoy the shit out of me... The "Oh i'm a Yankees fan, but am rooting for the Mets since they're in New York." "I'm a Jets fan in the AFC, Giants fan in the NFC." Or the people here..."I'm a Packers fan, but like the Bucs since I live here." It's so stupid, I totally despise it and it ticks me off to an extent...I like 1 team in each major sport. That's where it ends. None of this liking 2 teams in the same sport...BULLLLLLSHIT. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.
When it comes to the NFL, I can honestly say I despise every team that isn't the Jets. Most of them have given me good reason to at one point or another, I have a shit list that would go on for pages.
Not the way I meant it EcKo. I am NOT a Giant fan. I just pull for 'em if I'm sitting with my Dad watching the game. I don't follow them, own any Giant stuff or anything. I agree with you. You can't be a fan of two teams in the same sport.
Im a Jets fan and a Giants fan, right down the middle. I watch pretty much any football thats on, NCAA, Pro, CFL, Arena, sometimes even high school. I find it stupid to say you can only like 1 team. Does any one here just follow one actor and all the movies hes in? Is there literally just 1 musician you listen to or just one tv show you watch? Im pretty sure people dont do that. I grew up watching both teams, i like both teams, i root for both team. That doesnt make me any less of a fan who just roots for the Jets
I don't compare actors or rap artists to sports... You're just that type of person, i'm not saying don't do it...I just don't like those types of people who like two teams in the same sport, much less a team who is a rival and plays in the same state and stadium, but I digress. That's where you stand, hey no problem...I'm just on the complete opposite side of the spectrum. That's just me.
Not a good analogy. Actors and musicians are not all competing for the same thing, unless you really care about the Oscars or the Grammys. In Sports, all the teams are competing for that one thing You can root for anyone you want. It's a free country. However, it IS weak to root for two teams. If the Jets and Giants both had a playoff game on the same day and the Jets lost and the Giants won, and you went to bed with a smile on your face because one of your teams was still alive, that WOULD make you less of a Jets fan. A real Jets fan would go to bed that night with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a loaded pistol under the pillow, not a Tiki Barber build-a-bear.
how are they rivals? Do they play in the same division, the same conference? Dolphins are rivals, pats are rivals, and bills are rivals. I dont see the Giants stealing a playoff spot from the Jets. Jets and Giants play every couple of years, no one is taking food off of the others plate. Its the fans who make a hoopla over nothing.
I hate the Giants team more because of idiots like Shockey, Plax, Arrington. Only two guys that make me like that team at all is Toomer and Tiki. I hate the Raider's fans more than the team itself.
Everyone should hate the Raiders. We have alot of history. **** that team. I hate the Giants too but not near as I hate the Raiders. What sucks is that teh Raiders have had a couple players I really liked and it looks like they are about to draft another one too. UGHHH!!!
